Hi Everyone,
Hope you all are doing great! I have a specific case and hoping I can get help from an amazing community here.
I have my Oath ceremony on Feb 11th. Assuming I'll get my citizenship certificate 4 weeks after that and then I can apply for a Canadian passport. However, I have to travel to India around 20th April for a wedding.
In this case:
- Should I surrender my Indian passport right after I get my Citizenship certificate?
- Can I apply for an Indian Visa as soon as I get my Citizenship Certificate, because the current wait times seem to be longer because of Covid.
- Do Indian authorities ask for expired passports as well? If that's the case, I won't have one in case I surrender it.
If it's too much of a risk, I'm also open to re-scheduling the Oath ceremony but re-scheduling it for almost 3 months seems unreasonable to me so I'm trying to find a way out.
I'll very much appreciate some help on this.
Thanks a lot,
Abhi
