Hi all. so I have received my text messages between my husband and I back from the translator (Docbase) me and my husband talk in Spanish and use heavy slangs. I'm just reading over everything and it's not translated well because of the slang. Some words are mis-interpreted incorrectly. What do I do. Should I include a letter of explanation for the officer?

I had that problem as well, most of his conversation was heavy Dominican slang. I picked out the conversations with more English. As well I only included one page of whatsapp convos , also showed phone calls and the duration , and Facebook posts . That’s was the only way. I think maybe an explanation would really help. The application will most likely be sent to Mexico and I’m sure they will have officers there that speak Spanish and understand the slang , along with your explanation letter .
They may ask later for more but I think your idea of explaining is great

Did they ask for translations? I'm pretty sure they aren't needed if they don't ask for them. My husband and I usually text or message each other in Spanish and I sent that without translations.

They do now . They didn’t when I applied either but it’s part of the new application update that was quite recent

yes I decided to add a quick explanation letter and attached the email from Doc Base stating that they had a hard time. I hope that's enough, and yes it's going to Mexico and they should be able to read everything without translations.
