Transit Visa

Any help appreciated.
I have to take a flight from Lond - Toronto - Chicago in December and returning four days later by the same route. I hold an Indian passport and reside in Uk on a work permit.

I know i need a transit visa - but when i filled in the application form it was not clear if i need to submit two forms for both legs of journey - will i need two transit visa or Is one sufficient.

Any help would be appreciated.
I was daft to book the flight (it was a nightmare experience)

Have exhausted all means.
Called up air canada - Absolutely No help - did not even know I needed transit visa!!!!
Tried Canadian embassy in London - automated response - send an email (3wks back) still no response!!!!
What next?

You need to apply for 2 transit visas.
