hi friends,

i was browsing different flights available for travel from New Delhi to Toronto. I wanted to choose Lufthansa which has layover in Vienna.

However, transit visa is required for vienna (edit: not sure). Can you suggest me flight route which will not need any transit visas?

other flight which i found has layover in Frankfurt? do I need transit visa in this case??

This will be my first flight to Canada, so, please pour in your expertise.

Avoid any flight that transits through the US.

I will be transiting through the UK. Will get out of London Airport for a cool 48 hours! Depends on whether I get a transit visa though ;0)

Yes you are right, Indians do not need transit visa if they have valid visa of Canada.

Avoid US transit and if you are heading towards US/Canada and you have layover in UK then you don't need to apply for UK transit visa unless you intend to go outside from airport.

Travel insurance is more of a personal choice! It becomes mandatory whn travelling as a tourist. It's a good idea to do it, just 2-3 K !
I did directly with the airlines. They had more route options amd flexi ticket option as compared to Make my trip.
I got mine for 58,000rs.

yES, 58k for the booking i did 2.5 months in advance. I was willing to take the risk because anyway even if i were booking later, I would have had to pay this much amount extra! It's more like, being positive! Rest, all on destiny.!! Yes, it's the peak month when students fly. You ought to get such expensive flights!
