To start...this is my current timeline:

January 8, 2019 application delivered

February 27, 2019 application accepted email

March 26, 2019 requested biometrics

March 27, 2019 sponsor approved

March 27, 2019 requested medical exams

March 29, 2019 submitted medical exams and biometrics

Checked gckey and medical was passed.

I called today as it has been 4 months since I've heard anything. They said my application is still in Sydney Nova Scotia and has not been transferred to Mexico yet. I am sponsoring my wife and two children.

Is it normal for an application to sit in Canada for 4 months without being transferred?

it can take MONTHS... and being that your application will be processed in mexico, be prepared to wait at least the 12 months.. they are one of the slowest VOS.. you may not even get a transfer notice or AOR2.. we didnt... i suggest you follow the mexico thread.. you can also order your notes to see the status of your application as the call center agents have limited information and access

Yes, it’s normal — some are lucky and go faster but four months is very normal.
