Please calm down everyone, this is a forum of support and friendship.

I don't think anyone intentionally has tried to discriminate against anyone and maybe after you have slept on it everyone will have relaxed a little. Unfortunately in the current climate certain regions of the world have been viewed with a certain caution due to no fault of there own but that of a few individuals and maybe a little by misrepresentation from the Media. Canada is certainly not one of them countries were if you meet the criteria and wait in line for your immigration papers you are welcomed with open arms to be part of this great country.

Unfortunately a work colleague has already more then once told me to go back to my home country, tells me regularly I am from away and I will never be an islander and I am from the UK. But because I am white and english is my first language they do not see it as being racist!

Calm down guys :o you guys make me feel because of my gcms :'(

I think security should be conducted to every one, but also there are certain countries need more investigation, that's what i know.

Again calm down guys :)

I think I should be more cautious in naming one certain region as a "hot spot" for security checks. That was my mistake and I apologize Ronaldo and anyone who feel insulted because of that.

In my last GCMS Note I got, after I obtained PR, it clearly indicated Security 'not started', application status 'approved' visa printed, that means it had never been started in my case (I was lucky). Also at the time of my application, I was curious to find out how Security is being done so I submitted a request to CSIS to find out the status. And the report came back in mail, saying there was no request submitted to CSIS by CIC for my name. So I know from my experience that Security is done on a case-by-case basis, not for everyone. I could be wrong still , see here http://wikimmi.com/index.php?title=CSIS :)

I did not mean to discriminate but probably my words were not chosen carefully. As glenster said, in the current climate certain regions of the world have been viewed with a certain caution due to no fault of their own. That was exactly what I were trying to say. If you notice in the processing time chart the time in some certain regions are longer than others.

I hope everyone here will continue positive helpful environment. As I said I already went thru the PNP and PR journey. I am tracking on this forum for my relative'case not my own case and so I will continue to learn a lot from everyone' experiences and will share helpful experiences I had.

Hey guys, I don't know if I should order my notes, coz I agree we might get lots ppr in Jan 2013, and ppr might be earlier than the notes.
Take a look at my timeline.
What do you say?

It's all good you guys. You know I love you all and wish you all the best, it was a misunderstanding that happens sometimes specially in the virtual world. May we all get the permanent residency status and contribute to this beautiful nation.

Merry Christmas Everyone

There was nothing wrong with Truongan's post to me. Whether you like it or not, Middle East is considered to be one of the most dangerous regions nowadays; it's nothing racist, it's just a fact. And it is also a fact that those from the Middle East go through a more cautious security check compared to those from other countries. Of course this doesn't mean that everyone from the Middle East is dangerous. Anyways, just chill guys. It's X-mas.

The middle east region has more than 35 countries, there are 3-4 countries where conditions are unstable due to wars, revolutions, etc. It is not a fact that anyone from anywhere in the middle east goes through extensive security check, citizens from a very specific countries go through extensive security checks because of conditions that their countries have been through. You can't put the whole region into that category though.

Merry Christmas

To the contrary of what lot of people in this forum think, i have a different and a more concrete version. I talked to a person who works in immigeration at ottawa office. The security is done on individual bases. This middle east thing is a bunch of bunk. They are also careful about people coming from the countries known for pirates, mafia and drug cartels...

And FYI I am not from Middle East.....
