I just received my passport back today from Ottawa with the magic sticker on it. I will be landing tomorrow. I will share my experience once I am back.

Its really depressing and annoying but hopefully all of us will get PPR soon. I heard it depends on the nationality as well. Where are you from ? And I guess couple of weeks the strike was over.

Sorry for the late reply. Anyways, good news....I just got my PPR on 5-Nov at 4:15 PM (Alberta time)

On Fri, 1-Nov, a CIC Officer called me to discuss my application. My wife and I have been married for over a year, but live in different provinces due to work / study. He had doubts if we were in a valid relationship and asked me to submit "Proof of ongoing relationship" within 30 days. I put together a document with phone records, hotel reservations, photographs, etc and sent it out Mon, 4-Nov.

In response to your original question, I hold an Indian passport, but was born and raised in Saudi Arabia.

For others reference: Application Rec'd by CIC - 18-Jan; Medical Request - 15-Mar; Police Certificates requested - 27-May; RPRF Request - 19-Jul; Request for proof of relationship with spouse - 01-Nov; Documents sent - 04-Nov; PPR - 05-Nov. All dates are 2013.

My co-worker his was done at North Portal, 5 hours drive from Saskatoon.

you can check the list to see if any border that is available for immigration services.

If it is listed in the below list, it will be okay.

Good Advise, if the border provides immigration service then no issues with flag polling. Make sure that American side gives you administrative refusal which basically has no impact on your future travel to US. I have heard about Buffalo before, you should do fine. Good luck.

Hey, i sent my passport to Ottawa and received at Ottawa on oct 29 2013. but my tracker got activated at a Montreal postal facility.. i live in Alberta.. i don't know, if that's a glitch on the Canada post website... Anybody having the same issue ??? please help

I received my passport back on 8 Nov, completed my landing on 9 Nov early morning. Everything went smooth and the total process took 5 to 10 minutes. Wishing you all good luck for a bright future in Canada. Stay connected & hope we cross each other again while becoming Citizens.
