Your MP can only contact CIC on yout behalf concerning your application. MP don't have priviledge of fast tracking the application, but CIC will tell them about your application status.

Not sure about that, A36 is part of the immigration act but don't know what is all about. Will re-check my GCMS also to see what they wrote on mine.

Congrats OJEOLA!

Hey guys, as I wait for my passports to come back I am thinking about landing and have a question.
We are a family of 5, so I would like to go to Canada by myself for a couple of weeks, rent and furnish a condo, come back, and then travel together with my wife and kids.
The problem is, I can't stay in Canada for 2 months waiting for my PR Card to arrive, so I would need a travel permit, which also takes some time to issue, and it would keep me waiting at my home country while they process that before I can leave again.
So, I thought, maybe I can apply for a one entry tourist visa, use it for my first landing, and land as a PR together with my family a couple of weeks later.
Do you know if its possible to request a tourist visa, even if I have PR already?

A36 is part of the Act that concerns criminal records.

Every thing will take alot of time to process and issue. Will advice you to wait for your PR card until it arrive because you cant use COPR to travel. Even a tourist visa will take time also.
