I did receive an email invitation for the citizenship test.

Thanks for your wishes. Actually, my wait hasn't come to an END yet as I still have to wait for Oath ceremony. Concerning your question most CIC offices prefer to sent test invitations to applicants through the postal mail while some prefer email but it very rear. Make sure to be checking you ECAS also. Order for ATIP to have a clear idea of your application's progress.

How do we order ATIP and how long do we have to wait for the answer and does it bears any negative impact on the application? Thanks

ATIP reports are handled by Ministry of Justice by coordinating with various Federal Agencies.

Here is the URL where you can request - ATIP report. Request under privacy act is free of cost and other service cost $5 only.

ATIP report provide you status of your pending case with the concerned agency. In our cases, you have to select CIC for report.

Earlier the ATIP report was issued in exactly 30 days but due to work load, its taking up to 35 days.

There is controversial information regarding this. Some say it slows the processing time , some say that it helped them.

No, it does not have any negative effect on your processing. Some readers on this forum states that they get it every 30 days.

However, such excessive requests would surely put strain on that department and slow the process for all, as such now its taking longer ;D
