I dialed CIC today, officer surprised me by mentioning that they reset my clock for processing time on the day I changed my address :(

Landed on : 14th Oct
Address change : 6th Nov
Current status : Submitted
Ghost appearance : None

Officer says 50 days would be counted from 6th Nov... is that true? asked me to call back on December 20.

I don't think it's true. I called for the same purpose to remove my lawyer's address from address history. He said nothing like that. Don't worry I think you are good!

I've been reading this forum for long and here's what I have read - it may not be accurate but then there is no official resource available:
1) If the address has changed in Canada - applications haven't been reset - or at least the people who posted did not say so
2) I do remember reading about a case where the address was changed from US to Canada and the officer on phone said that we will start the clock from today.

Again - I am not sure about the above information and I am only speaking from what I have read i the past on this forum.

Hope you get it soon.

You can not contact ircc through phone but you can contact your local country visa office .another best option is use ircc web form. Write them email they will reply you back in 2-4 business days . You can search “ ircc web form” on google and write all information it asks

I used web form to find out abt my spouse and kids card status. Now they have replied saying they need new photos. I have already got my own photo request. I m finding it a bit strange. What if i had not written to them.. would their cards have been processed,? Anyeays now all of us need to resubmit sigh

Our first address was a Canadian address, unfortunately we had to change the initial address as our friend was moving out to new location. I have called CIC for change of address and they haven't mentioned anything about clock being reset on the same day. I called up last week to check the progress of my PR card application, there was no mention of clock reset, but they did confirm address change. A lady officer today told me that my clock was reset as we had an address change. I was totally taken aback by her comments. I told her about my plans to leave the country before Christmas, and came the classic response of apply for PRTD. I'm yet to find any official documentation on the same.
There isn't any premium process to get the card or PRTD early. Its indeed like a blackhole. There have been numerous attempts and requests to the ministry to interfere in the PR card processing times and the efforts haven't changed anything.
