My husband landed on may 22nd 2016 at Vancouver airport.
I landed on 17 may at peace arch border.

Hello Guys, I know this has been asked a lot of times, and I am asking those who has done it recently. Has anyone sent PR card outside Canada to a friend or family member? Did they receive it without any hassle? What sort of courier was used? Thanks in advance for those who'll share their insights and experiences.

Hi,

I wonder if someone can help me with their expert opinion. So, my wife has a visitor visa to canada valid till August. She landed on May 15th and her 54 days got over last week. Till now, no update from IRCC and status shows under processing. We leave for a trip to US next week and will be back beginning of Aug (when visitor visa would still be valid).

If PR Card does not get delivered before we leave for US, can someone here courier it to us in US? Has it been done before and is it safe to do so?

If she landed as PR, she cannot use her visitor visa anymore.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but she can use her visitor visa to board the plane, and once at the borders, she can present her COPR to immigration, who will look up her record, and verify her status as a permanent resident.

No. She can't do this if travelling by a commercial vehicle (Plane). Immigration officers will only accept the COPR if you are traveling using your personal car through a land border.

Going out of country doesn't require anything. If you are willing to come back, you have to enter through border using private vehicle or by walk.
Plane, train or bus journey is not allowed.
your old visas are invalid.

I landed on 24th April and gave them my friend's address. I'm currently outside Canada and still waiting for my friend to receive the PR card. That means it has been almost 3 months already since landing.

The CIC number I think is supposed to be for people INSIDE Canada. How can I call them from outside Canada or do I just dial the same number?

Try to use some service that calls as if you are inside Canada. plenty are online.

+1 (613) 944 4000 is the number. It's a general govt number so you'll have to listen carefully to the options in order to connect you to CIC.

Landed on 8th May (Niagara) and PR card sent on July 4th.
