I landed in mid May and have travel plans in beginning of August .. I need to book a flight, but now I am hesitant after hearing a lot of ppl having trouble with delays and photo issues ..

What is the probability of not receiving the card by the end of July? is the delay/photo re-submission a common issue or only for photos taken with old specs. ???

My photos are taken recently with the new specs. so I hope they would not re-request them again. from what I hear from you guys, I understand is that nothing is guaranteed !

Why do say it will take 2.5 months if someone got a photo re-submission request ??? that way too much time .. is there any evidence of similar case ?

The 2.5 month delay that I said was based on my own case (photos delivered on April 25th and PR not sent yet), and what the agent told me on the phone. There is no recognized processing time for photo resubmission cases, so it all depends on the work load. I see cases that took shorter too.

to my personal expirence once thy ask for resubmitt of photos thn " NOTHING IS GURANTTED" no time frame thy can send at any time but not later than 60 days. even if you call thy wont even access your file thy will say just keep waiting.if u are waiting for more than 3months after resubmitting , thy will tell send photos again . there are people who re submitted photos twice and waited for 9 months after landing for pr card . the funny thing is all the family members took pic at one studio and all three persons got at diffrent times, even thy asked to resubmitt the pics for two of them

Just to add my update.
I landed 28th April, I called them today and the agent told me it was in process, i should give it another two weeks before calling them again.
I specifically asked her if the photograph they had on file was ok,she said if they need anything from me i will b contacted.
its real funny cos people who landed after me have received theirs, I thot since we are all PRs now the process will be fairly stable and equal across board.
oh well....i wanted to travel but thats not really a biggie...just glad to b Canadian.....lol

Hi! How did they ask for the photos? Did you get a mail or a letter?

We are unfortunately one step closer to mail disruption. Canada post has notified the union of the 72-hour notice that they are required to serve before suspending the contracts. They say it does not necessarily mean the postal service will stop on Friday, but they will be able to take measures.

From inside Canada:

1-888-242-2100, then 7 (Express Entry) and 0 (Representative). It usually takes 5-7 min to get in touch with a representative.
Thanks for the info. Called them exactly at 9:00 am, waited for less than a minute, and they told me that my card is under processing and that it will be processed between today and July 19th.

Does anyone know if there is a chance that they will still request a photo resubmission?

And also, he told me CIC will use other options if the post strike is there.

has anyone called CIC and checked whether they will use alternative service to mail our PR cards once the Canada Post goes on strike?
I wonder if our PR cards (if mailed out by CIC) will sit with Canada Post till the strike ends.

I don't think they will change it. They are both government's service, they won't use UPS to increase the cost. And they don't care when we get the Card right...

I confirmed with an agent that PR Cards will be sent out via courier in case of a work stoppage at Canada Post, most likely they'll switch to Purolator, which is mostly owned by Canada Post
