Urgent Need Help:

I have landed in Canada on Feb 2016 and still waiting for PR card.... I had to returned to USA for my job commitment and now would like to go back to Canada... I am not from visa exempt country.......
My question is :

- Can I use my unexpired multiple entry work permit visa for the purpose of airline travel and show my COPR to immigration after landing... will that work? OR My work permit is invalid after using immigrant visa.
- Should I cross US - Canada border on a personal vehicle registered in US not Canadian plate... will that be an issue
- or Should i simply walk the border.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering how long it has taken for you to receive your PR card at your mailing address?
I got my landing documentation done and became a PR as of Apr 2nd, 2016. Its been 52 days now and I still have not received my PR card. Has anybody had a similar time line to mine and gotten it?

You should "technically" not be able to use a work/study visa to board a commercial airliner because they are no longer valid for a permanent resident. However, if your visa is still valid and in your current passport, and it was not crossed off by the CBSA officer at the time of landing to indicate that it is no longer valid, chances are that you will be able to board the plane without a lot of trouble. It is possible that they see your Immigrant visa and enquire further, although at the end of the day, I think they will have to let you onboard because you have a valid visa (in their eyes, so to say). So it is generally not recommended if you want a hassle free travel.

if there are any issues with our photos, shouldn't we receive an email from CIC already by now? Can I assume that my photo passed the requirements?

I landed on April 6 at Emerson border. Still waiting for PR card.

Landed Feb 14 2016, still not signal of PR.

I will call tomorrow and cry over the phone with the CIC agent to see if that helps.

Yes Deccan, I resubmitted my Photos March 15th. CIC received the new photos on March 16th or 17th. I landed Jan 12th. Still waiting for PR. Now here's the news - I called CIC and my card was mailed TODAY. I should receive it within two weeks. I'll keep you posted.

The lady on the phone was nice. She said it is taking about 10 weeks from when you resubmit your photos
