I am not sure how it got updated in your case. But travelling via land, I-94 gets updated only once you re-enter US or if you have paper based I-94 which you have to turn to CBSA office during Canada entry. There is no CBP office at exit, you directly reach CBSA.
Last time when I traveled in 2018, my I-94 did not get updated when I entered Canada, it only got updated once I re-entered US.

Here is the reference from official site: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home
Its on the home page (right side at the bottom).

How do I report my departure if I enter via air and depart via land?
If you have a paper form I-94 and depart by land, you can turn the form into Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) upon entry into Canada or to CBP at the port of entry prior to entering Mexico. If you received an electronic I-94 upon arrival by air or sea and depart via land, your departure may not be recorded accurately. A departure will be recorded if you depart via land and re-enter the United States prior to the expiration date stamped in your passport. If you are not a resident of Canada or Mexico and you receive an electronic I-94 and depart via land, but do not re-enter the United States prior to the expiration date stamped on your passport, you may want to travel with evidence of your departure into Canada or Mexico. Evidence of departure can include, but is not limited to, entry stamps in a passport, transportation tickets, pay stubs and/or other receipts. A traveler can request an entry stamp from CBSA when entering Canada or from the InstitutoNacional de Migracion (INM) when entering Mexico.
As I said before, CBSA reports exit from USA to CBP. It's also in the link I have pasted above.

@raxx.cater - hi, can they actually do that? I heard shipping PR cards across boarder is not allowed as such!
My friends did it. I also tried to find the details on this but I never found any official statement saying its not allowed. If you find anything, then please share it with the group.

Ok, then there might be some issue when I traveled last. But as CBP mentioned the exit may not be recorded accurately, I can think of that not all data is shared by CBSA to CBP.

Anyone Saskatoon?! I haven’t received mine yet
Hi, mine was also sent to Saskatoon IRCC. PR got approved on June 1st, photos were sent on June 2nd. I linked the PR card application and it shows the application was submitted on July 2nd. I haven't heard of anything after that. Don't know if the office has received my photos since I didn't track it. I also submitted a webform to change the address. I hope they can see the information and won't send the card to the old address.

Does the Copr expiry date matter? Mine is going to expire this October. But I thought the approving letter can last for one year. Confused.

Some of my friends have got their PR card shipped by their relatives using Fedex and UPS overnight delivery as those are much safer compared to other cheaper options.
Which cheaper options are unsafe for shipping PR cards and why? Was thinking if using one of those “better rates” companies, thought they had good reviews? Their quotes are 50% cheaper than UPS and DHL due to bulk shippping.

I got my CoPR on June 10 and sent the pictures to the Winnipeg office (as instructed in the letter) one week later, the pictures arrived on June 18.
Today I decided to check the tracking number on the Canada Post website and saw that the envelope was delivered to Kitchener on July 13.

So I have:
Vancouver ---> Winnipeg (arrived on June 18)
Then on July 9 St. John's, NL ---> Kitchener, ON (arrived on July 13)

Does anybody know why the envelope didn't stop at Winnipeg and went to Kitchener? Is this something I should be worried about?

By saying overnight delivery as safer compared to others, I mean to say less the package in transit time, much safer it is. Also, overnight packages are separately handled and prioritized, so they have the least chances of getting lost in transit. This does not imply that all other options are unsafe. You can try any of the available options you see feasible based on the reviews. You can also check 3rd party shipping websites (eg: https://secureship.ca) which provide UPS, Fedex or DHL shipping labels at a discounted rate.
