Hi, if we get PR through the TR to PR pathway, but return to Quebec before getting the PR due to a job opportunity, and are still in Quebec, will this cause an issue when applying for citizenship later?
Please share your experiences with the citizenship application (TR to PR pathway)
Especially for those who have not left Quebec or who returned to Quebec after obtaining PR.
Did they ask for any justifications? thank you

You are free to live wherever you want to after PR. There will be no impact to citizenship.

You can’t move to Quebec before getting PR in order to qualify for the TR to PR program. Would also personally suggest that you not move until you receive your PR card at your non-Quebec address. Qualifying for PR is substantially harder now so it would be a bad idea not to follow the eligibility requirements of your TR to PR stream.

Thank you, I already got my PR card, and now I'm applying for citizenship, but before getting my PR, I wrote an engagement letter to leave Quebec when getting PR, which I couldn't satisfy, do you think this will cause an issue? my justification for not leaving Quebec is I have a good job and I got married in Quebec

Your post makes it sound like you haven’t received PR. Did you ever live outside of Quebec. If so when in relation to PR? Did you try and secure employment outside Quebec and do you have proof of that?

Yes, I initially left Quebec to apply for my PR and found a job outside of Quebec. However, before obtaining PR status, I received a better job offer in Quebec and decided to return. I ultimately received my PR while in Quebec. At that time, I wrote an engagement letter to leave Quebec after receiving my PR, but I ended up staying. Now, as I am applying for citizenship while still residing in Quebec, I am concerned about whether this could present any issues with my application.

Hello do you have any news on your citizenship application?
I am in kind of a similar situation I got my PR in 2022 In New Brunswick after I got PR I traveled outside of Canada for 1 year and a half and when I got back I got better job in Quebec so I stayed in quebec
Planning on submitting my citizenship application by the end of 2026

Did you ever attempt to settle in NB? How much time did you actually spend in NB after securing PR? In general IRCC is getting much tougher when it comes to vetting applications even compared to 6 months ago.

I left nb to travel outside of Canada while still having employer from NB remotely I physically wasn’t there but I filed and paid NB taxes
My program didn’t require me to settle in NB it just should have an intention to settle outside of Quebec
