HI ,
I would appreciate if I could get just some tips and advices in regard to my situation. First of all , I have no criminal background , actually I am being "prosecuted" continue-sly by criminals.
Presently I am endangered in a life threatening specific way in my country , this has been going on for a period of almost ten years ! and finally have decided to put an end to this , from the latest incident of few months ago that resulted in direct physical assault towards me I was advised to leave the country with a Visitor Visa in Canada , I have help from my family and friends and a lot of support to not be a burden on Canadian government and its citizens and tax payers , and do not want to be a social parasite in anyway !

I have been reading a lot , and I know the best way is to apply for immigration from my own country , but because of the limited time and life threatening situation I have , and taking in the consideration the high chances of getting a visitor visa lot faster , in some way has obliged me to ask this simple question :

1- As a Tourist in Canada , what are the steps I should/or can take in order to remain in Canada since my life is endangered in my own country ? ( I am not directly proclaiming myself as a victim and that I should now be considered as a refugee and profit from my situation , I just wanna follow the rules , work and basically just be able to live ! )

I would really appreciate it , if the answers are directly to the topic and not alternative measures I could take.

Thanks in advance for everyone in concern , it does mean a lot to me and my wife
God bless you for any information you may pass as a helpful tool to basically helping a person in need for just having the chance or option to be able to live a safe and healthy family life in a normal country.

I agree. It seems to me that your intention is to stay permanently than just "visiting".

You can also try Singapore:

Dear both ,

Thank you very much for the answers , I understand the implications on coming as a visitor and then staying over in Canada , maybe I should re-phrase my question :

- As a Tourist Visa holder , what are the steps that I can take in order to remain legally in Canada for a period of time , settle , fund myself personally, and then slowly applying for Temporary or Permanent Resident Card.

Thank you once again for your prompt reply

What country are you talking about?

Even as a visitor you would need to apply for permanent resident status via the normal channels. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

You could also try to find an employer in Canada willing to hire you and then apply for a temporary work permit (this wouldn't give you PR status but would let you stay in Canada temporarily and work). Note that this is much easier said than done. In order to hire you, an employer must first prove they couldn't find a Canadian or PR to do the job. For this reason employers often aren't willing to consider foreign workers for open positions. However you can certainly try...

Are you visa exempted? As a visitor, you can't really settle.

If you want us to help you and provide the correct advise, you have to help us to answer some questions

What country are you from?
What kind of threat are you running from? (political/criminal/military/family threat)
