I live in South Africa, I applied for an open work permit in February 2019, at that time of applying, I was unhappy in my work situation and thought I could go to Canada on a 3 or 6 months contract to travel the country and get paid while I'm exploring Canada. But I have been refused due to the fact that an open work permit only applies to the spouse or common-law partner of a work permit holder in Canada (I am single). I was unaware of the requirements at the time of applying since it was a rushed option because I just wanted to quit my job and go asap.
Now 4 months later, I recently opened my own company in South Africa (very happy in my new work situation) but would still like to travel to Canada for a period of 6 months as a tourist. I am aware that the previous refusal is going to have a negative impact on whether my tourist visa will be approved, could you please advise on how to improve my visa to be accepted.
