rumours, rumours.

this not the "list of the top 25 occupations in Canada", as you put it.

this is the list of the most searched occupations in the "working in canada tool".

very different things.

anyone could make a random list of 38 occupations from the 520 and claim that "there are rumours that these might be among the ones - and there's a pretty good chance they'd be at least partially right. ;-)

Well, we'll see the real list and new rules this December hopefully. And how well it'll be correlated with top-searched occupations list just for fun.

If they won't postpone it for another year of course. At least Annual Report to Parliament on Immigration 2008 with all new rules and regulations should be tabled to parliament before the end of year. Or can they shift this one to another year as well or skip it??? All previous years reports were released in the last days of October except this special year.

We'll never know, since anyone who can access the website can use the search tool. However, if we read the About, it says,

he Working in Canada Tool can help newcomers to Canada well-informed decisions about where to live and work. After inputting a specific occupation and a location, an immigrant can produce a report that contains information on job descriptions, wages, skills, language training and job opportunities tailored to their needs.

Clearly it is geared to prospective employees. So basically this list tells you the top 25 occupations of people who're planning to go to Canada.

Lets wait and see how many occupations are announced by the government in power after Vote of no Confidence is concluded by the Canadian parliment.
Is that really wise?

Last time it took them 9 months (from february to november) to change the rules. Suppose it takes 6 this time.

They are promissing to process applications in 6 months...

As I always say: carry on as though nothing was happening, you have nothing to lose applying now.
