Hi,

I have read CIC.GC website. but I am confused. It just says that nationwide they accept 5000 parent sponsorship applications. But when should we send this application, when they start accepting application and when the close date?

Last February, I was going to submit the application and call the citizenship office, and they said they no longer accepting application because they reached 5000 applicants for 2014 already. now for 2015 applicants when am I sending this?

Thank you

Ok. I read in this link, cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=819&t=14

in 2014 the application open Jan 2.
so when they reached 5000 applicants do they throw the rest of the applications out the window?
eg. application 5001 and up. and we have to re apply when they re open in 2015 and so on?

any one know?

thanks

You can reapply in January 2015. Most likely 5000 spots will fill up in a couple of weeks.

You will need to show Canadian income from CRA Notice-of-Assessments, meeting parents LICO amount for 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Application 5001 and above will be returned unprocessed. No fees will be charged and it will be as if you never applied. They are not "refused". A new application will have to be made, starting from the beginning.
(OK, that's a little simplistic, but essentially correct).
