To renew PR card or not?

Hey guys,

First pardon me if my question has already been asked. lots of thread to sort out already and so little time.

My situation is.

My permanent residence card is due to expire June 6,2011..
I submitted my citizenship application this may 2011.

my question is. Do i have to renew my PR card right now even though i dont really have intention
to leave the country?

or will it have an effect on the citizenship application if i didnt renew the PR card?

It wont have any effect on your citizenship application if you renew now or dont renew. Meanwhile have in mind that citizenship application takes about 15 months. So, if you plan to travel before then you will have to renew your PR. You also have the option of doing the emergency renewal which takes about 4 weeks.
