Hi everybody,

I'm from the 1st batch of 2016 PGP applicants who did not receive the SA
I requested for GCMS notes and I received it last week. It does not show anything but the date of letters that I have received/sent.
It shows that the "SA met for: 6" but the status is "Not started".

Has anyone got any useful info from the call center?
I am among the few fellow members still waiting for SA.

My parents were traveling back on Nov 21 but I hold them as I want to get their landed status at the earliest. Not sure why though :) I have sent their passport yesterday and hoping to get them back in 2 to 3 weeks. I may have to extend their tickets.
J
Make sure you are delaying their tickets by good 3-4 months because once they are landed they won't be able to travel out of the country until they get their PR Card which will take 4-6 weeks to come. Their Super Visa /Visitor Visa will be cancelled at the time of Landing. Just an advise.

Thanks. I agree with your advise. I would also add based on my personal experience that I had got 'travel document' visa for myself when I had left Canada after a week of landing and had to come back without a PR Card. This is not the best option but still there is one. Hope they still issue this 'travel document' visa. Hope CIC can improve on the process of issuing PR card. I think it is intentionally delayed for so many months.

I had read a similar instructions on CIC website. Based on my understanding for option 1, the wait time for appointment is very high. Can someone share experience if they used the option 1 of booking appointment for status change?

For second option, the option that I have is flagpoling thru US/Canada border but the instructions do not describe this option. It adds a bit of risk/doubt on the process. :-\
CIC will never instruct anyone to flag-pole as it will seem to US that Canadian Govt. is encouraging "Aliens" to enter US without US Visa. But the practice of flag-poling do exist at the border and both countries usually respect it.

So, when you choose to flag-pole, you're on your own and Canada cannot be held responsible for this.

You can always courier the PRC to your parents in India.

Or, let them land once they come back here next year. The PR Visa will most likely be valid till the medical expires (12 months).

Did you order GCMS notes as well?
No. Looking at this forum, there are many people including me who have still not receive SA. I am not sure how CIC is randomly processing the applications.

As per the official website, they are processing applications from Jan 2014. I looked at Rossei's spreadsheet for 2015. People mostly got SA after 1.5 years.

Thus, I don't see any rush or any issues. It's all waiting game.

I am getting nervous about how late it is and how the IMM 5768 that is on CIC website is still the November 2015 version containing fields for income assessments for 2012, 2013, and 2014. Even in IMM 5772 – right under the Federal Income Table, its given that, "If you are applying in 2016, you must provide proof of income from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for the taxation years of 2014, 2013 and 2012". I am going to be applying in January, 2017, so I would imagine a IMM 5768 form with the years 2013, 2014, and 2015 should be used. Is this not reasonable?

For those whose PGP application was received by CIC in January 2016, how late in the year has CIC updated forms on its website ??

PS - CIC call center is as usual clueless (big surprise...)

Not likely.

CIC updated the last forms in November both for 2015 & 2016 applications. So, it's likely they would do the same this year as well. Only for 2014, CIC updated the forms very late in December and hence some applications were returned for not using the latest forms. Mind you, 2014 was the first year that all the criteria changed and CIC re-opened PGP program. So, they were in some kind of rush - I assume.

Hi rus66958
I am on the same situation ,i got noticed in back pages that 6-7 persons are in the same situation,pl update when you find any thing.

I got my sponsorship approval on 22nd June 2016 and after two months my ecas in permanent resident application shows “In Process” on 26th of Aug.2016 but on 1st sept.2016 again turned to “Application Received” and still “application received”.

Can any one faced like this and if yes when will again gone to “in process” ,
when his/her file processed OR someone have an idea regarding this.

No correspondence after 22nd june from IRCC , four months has gone so worried.

Any other member having same situation please discuss in the forum as I am worried being after SA on 22nd June no progress in the file.
what does your online account say.. mine is saying eligibility in review.. but ecas is showing application received.

I was hoping they improve/change the process of taking PGP applications considering the noise made by the media that the courier services are reaping gold out of it and the process may not be fair as CIC do not provide time when it received the application (only date) and the courier services' datetime is severely wrong. May be lucky draw, similar to US's H1-B is more suitable.

It may be bit too early for few of us to think about supporting medical for parents once landed as PR. Would they have to wait for 3 months (for Ontario) to be eligible for medical support? Are there special medical plans for Seniors?
