If you don't want to pay 50K for your parents to look after their health concerns, they can get a regular TRV so they can visit you for 6 months. Otherwise, you really want your parents on health care. You can't have it both ways.

please.....and thanks for all the information.

All I want is for my parents to stay with me without a timer hanging on our neck! I am ready to pay whatever it takes.

My post was crystal clear, but I know you have hard time reading others post!

Same reason why french immersion is so popular in the alberta, the most anti-french province in Canada. There is always an under lining reason why some program are so popular. Free health care for parents is the major motivator behind it's popularity of PGP. You are falling for the political correctness of the PGP. You can't believe that only 51% of the sponsors wants the PGP for health care coverage reasons. You are being naive.
Alberta most Anti-French Province???? really... I live in Alberta and I never heard of this before lol
I guess you are making your own thinking a general rule for everyone but it doesn't mean whatever you are saying is correct.

You are not required to spend 50K on your house just to accommodate your parents.. ;D ;D ;D Maybe you are right.. Healthcare is not important to you... coz you are wealthy enough to spend 50K.. ;D ;D ;D ;D But that is not always the case for most of us. :)
I wish I was rich :)! But then again it's all relative, in our head!

I hope you have figured out how you plan to take care of your parents needs without investing additional dime! If you are investing additional dime, then you are helping Canadian economy!

Don't believe CIC accepts bank drafts. Only certified cheques or credit cards as two form of payments as listed on website. I think the only reason they accepts these two payments is that they both contain proof of residing in Canada. Whereas bank draft doesn't. Anyone can walk into a bank and get a bank draft.

The website does say "other forms of payment will not be accepted".

Under Incorrect fee payment heading, it says "fees are not paid by certified cheque or credit card".
I phoned CIC said:"Take it, it's guaranteed CAD anyway!" The head in CIC said"Yes, sir." :p

There is a Nata1973 (row 129 of Timeline), but there is no Nata2016 in the SS. Are you a current user? No matter what, you should be able to use any free row (which is not being used by others) from Row#8 to Row#50 of New Entry sheet to add/update your info

Not everyone can get a super visa. In my case my mom has no property and not much of anything to tie her to the States so I doubt she would be approved. Plus, even if she did, where would she put all of her things, her pets? She can't afford to put her whole apartment into storage for years and continue to pay rent while not even living there. It's not fair to assume that a Super Visa is a viable solution for all.

She's also very happy with Medicare. The only reason she would be coming here is to be with me her only child, and my son her only grandchild. She also loves my in-laws and they love her. We are basically the only family she has. Without us she'd die alone.
Property or anything doesn't matter when you apply for Supervisa... my mom is here and we never showed anything but only saying i'll take care of her and insurance..thats it..super easy to get super visa... Also when you know that she will eventually move to Canada once her PR application is approved then why not move her now and be with her on super visa if you really want her to be with you... otherwise PR waiting game is on :)

Hey, you are arguing that parents wants free/inexpensive/affordable/ok health care so they decide to move to Canada. That's very wrong. You are wrong because you assumed that everyone's parents are coming from your wife's country and have the same socioeconomic status as your wife's parents so their health care access is much worse than average Canadian. That's not true for other people. You know.

The truth is that parents have decided to move to Canada for whatever reasons so they need free/inexpensive/affordable/ok health care. It's like heating, electricity and running water. The very basic stuff. You know. They already have better health care in home country. Moving to Canada is actually a little sacrifice for them but they are willing to pay the price to be close to children.

So if you feel your wife's parents is enjoying free health care on everyone else's dime then just be grateful. But don't assume everyone on this forum pays as little tax as your wife does. Otherwise who is going to pay for your wife's parents health care bill.

What's wrong investing in Canadian Economy or helping Canadian Economy??? its good for you only otherwise we won't be able to support ourselves if economy goes down... You need to think from all perspective. Also wherever you live you always end up spending your dime on your elderly parents so why not be with them and take care of them even if it takes some effort..

And I don't want to hear that, "While they won't admit it out loud, they use "I want my parents to see their grandchild" " BS. That is one of our reasons. Healthcare is NOT. That argument is ridiculous as is projecting.

I repeat, my mother is 100% happy with her healthcare and doctors in the US.
Yes until terminal illness strike like cancer strike and her insurance company won't or can't cover her anymore. Then she is on her own. How many stories we have heard of people in US going bankrupt over expensive health care. It's easy to say one thing until it actually happens.

I had a conversation with a Canadian (by descent) that was born in US, lived all his life in US and now in Canada to sponsor his American wife. He admitted to only stay in Canada long enough for his wife to get Canadian citizenship. Once she gets it, they will go back to US. This way, they can come back to Canada for free medical treatments. No worries about going bankrupt.

But do they allow people moving their belongings? That's the biggest issue, because how can you prove you are going to go back to your home country if you have no home to go back to and need to bring your household belongings and pets with you? Once we take the huge step to move everything, it's on and we have to have everything set in stone. There's no going back at that point.

Not all belongings but yeah whatever is necessary and why do you even wanna move everything if you already have your own place to let her be with you?
