Rossei 3 more questions for you

Which courier company would you suggest?

For Income cutoff for 2012 for a family of 5, the table on cic site says the 62,023.. does this already include the extra 30% or we need to include 1.3*62,023 =80629

Do parents also need to submit any income or property proofs?

thanks for all your help

Great Post Rossei...thank you

For the Option C. I called CIC and they have sent me printouts of income tax information-regular (rc143-1 e) which says they were sent at the request of the tax payer(me).. the docs are not signed and dont have any seals...is this what we require? these look like normal print outs from computer.. please help
RC143-1 E is the Option C printout. Although it doesn't have any signature/seal; it's considered "official". You can print the online version and that won't match with this completely. There are initials printed at the bottom.

Anyway, what you have is the right ones to apply for PGP.

Don't count on me on this as courier can mess it up during the opening day of PGP-2016. As I already mentioned in my original post, GTA based express courier services seem to be faster than the big ones. So, if you can dispatch the application from Toronto, it would be ideal. DO NOT choose CanadaPost. FeDex has proved to better than UPS & Purolator in terms of accurate time-stamping of delivery. You can check out our 2015 timeline spreadsheet (link given in my signature) for other courier services.

The table given on the Guide 5772 gives you the list of Minimum Necessary Income (MNI). FYI, MNI = LICO +30% which means 30% is already included in the incomes given.

Do parents also need to submit any income or property proofs?
No, they don't at this point. However when it goes to PR processing, the LVO may ask for additional docs from your parents. But these are not normally anything related to financial docs.

Thanks you Rossei...+1 for your quick and concise response

Hi Rossei,

Would you know any local courier around "CIC– Mississauga PGP" office who was most effective in delivering the packages in 2015 (on time)...as I am planning to submit the package in 2016 for sponsoring my parents?

Also couple of more queries if you could help...

1> Do i need to submit Birth Certificate of Parents? I guess not and mine is enough. Please can you confirm if you know as I see mixed messages in different forms? 5771 says (#4)...birth certificate of parents are required only if I am applying for my grandparents.

2> My parents do not have Marriage Certificate...so would photocopy of Affidavit work, as my parents names are also in each of their Passport and in my Birth Certificate too...and I am proving those too as part of the required supporting docs? Is it a problem if I submit photocopy of Affidavit, instead of original Affidavit as we just have one original of the Affidavit?

I may bother you more in future...sorry and thanks in advance... :)

They have no seal or signature. Just an official original document from CRA. It's fine.

I really cannot choose one for you in case it doesn't work well in 2016. You can research on our timeline spreadsheet (link given in my signature). There are dispatch time and delivery time stamp on Timeline_Stage1 sheet. To name a few that worked well for 2015 applicants:
- Happyroad Express
- Private Courier Services
- AAA Express

You don't have to provide your parents' birth cert. if you're only sponsoring your parents.

As far I know, for any certified/translated copy, you also have to provide the copy of the original. A copy of a copy (affidavit) may not be valid. I'm not too sure about these things though.

Is there any time limit enforced before you are able to sponsor?
I became a PR this year and would like to sponsor my parents. I meet the income requirements for the three preceding years.

Anyone else planning on sending the application from Ottawa? I am still worried about about getting my application on time even if the new government raises the limit to 10k for 2016.

As long as you can provide lico requirement for previous years you can apply for your parents pgp in 2016 despite only landing in 2015 as pr.

I have my doubt that the pgp cap limit will increase to 10K for 2016. It is just way too soon. Maybe for Jan 2017 assuming justin follow through on his long long long list of promises made during campaign.

Dont forget CIC will be busy processing 25000 refugees by end of year if justin carry through on the refugee promise.

Hi Rossei,

Is it ok to submit multiple applications in different courier services like 3 identical for 3 courier services? What do you think?

Hi, could someone please help clarify what these lines mean ? I'm sorry if this has been answered before, I couldn't find any threads for this.

I want to sponsor my parents in 2016. But these two steps are confusing me.

1) Do I need to submit two sets of applications - one for sponsorship and one through my parents for PR ?

2) Or I only need to fill out the application package in the sponsorship section ? Are these all the forms that need to be submitted ?
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/sponsor-parents.asp

There are two steps to the application process for your parent(s) or grandparent(s) to become permanent residents.

As a citizen or permanent resident of Canada, you must apply to sponsor your family member.
Your sponsorship application is processed by the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga (CPC-M).
You will be notified in writing by CPC-M about the decision on your sponsorship application.
Your parent(s) and/or grandparent(s) must apply for permanent residence.

The applications for both sponsorship and permanent residence should be filled out and sent at the same time.

I was confused as well when I applied. Anyway, you are right (No. 2) in assuming that all applications you need are in the app package. Although the process is somewhat divided in 2 stages: Sponsorship by CPC-M and PR by LVO; you need to send all forms together. Besides, if you look for what each form is meant for, you will see both 'Sponsorship Application (IMM 1344)' and 'PR Application (IMM 0008)' are included in the package.

Well, that's a huge gamble I wouldn't dare to take. In case more than one of your apps get into the 5,000 cap; there can be 2 things CIC can do:
1) CIC can accept the latest one they receive assuming all other received prior has some errors. In the case that your first app made to the top 5000 and the rest did not; this may cause all apps fall out of the 5000 cap.
2) CIC can decline all apps for "misrepresentation" or something I don't even know

Thanks Rossei! That clears it up

Hi, a question on IMM 5669 (Background declaration) and IMM 5406 (Additional family info):

I'm a PR holder, the only child of my mom, and going to sponsor her.
So should I also fill those forms since it says "dependand children over 18 whether accompanying you or not"?
Or it only needs to be filled by my mother?

Thanks a lot for your replies!
