Timing (to register) for Child Elementary

Does anybody have any experience in terms of timing to register to child in Canadian Public School.
1. When is the latest we have to register for September start date?
2. Would it be possible to start in the middle of school year in case we came in after the summer or can't register in time?

You can enroll your child in school anytime as soon as you arrive whether it's in September or January or even May. Since Canada welcomes new immigrants throughout the year, the public schools recognize that and accommodate the new students.

Where do you plan to settle? You can google the public school board for the city ypu want to settle in and they almost always have a website. Yoi'll find info there on how to register your child for school. For example, we settled in Saskatchewan and the organization that oversees school registration is Regina Open Door Society. this type of org is funded by the government and they are one of the many immigrant serving org in Canada. Basically we attended a school orientation and my child was assessed so they'll know which grade level to put your child in. They will determine if the child needs to attend an English as Additional Language Program and also which school he should attend- where you live will determine which school.
