Dear all,

After the PR approved, how much time do I have before I move?
I applied under my husband sponsorship, and we are planning to move next year, if the PR approved in 6 months, do I have to go immediately or do I have certain timing?

Thank you,

Catarina

I did not even think of this as I thought once the medical was approved, the only time frame was on the Immigration approval time period. What expiry time is given for medicals? What if the PR has not been approved before the medical time expires? It's not your fault but that of Immigration for not getting the PR processed.

The medical is only valid for a year, if it expires you have to have a new medical.

Sorry for not understanding why this would be, but are you saying that even though a valid clear medical exam was submitted with the original application package, if Canada Immigration themselves do not process the PR in a year from when they say the started the evaluation, the applicant has to provide another medical?
First of all, I completely do not understand why. Will they have the courtesy to call to tell the applicant they need a new one for their files, or will they wait until the process is 99.9% completed and then call the applicant to say they won't grant landed immigrant status until the person turns in another medical exam, therefore delaying things EVEN more, oh and quite clearly adding to the economic benefit of the local approved immigration medical exam doctors on the list. This is just one more twisted ridiculous angle to the whole process.
