Time Between LMO Result and Expiry of Current Permit

Hello All,

Currently i am on a Working Holiday Permit from New Zealand and my employer has decided to sponsor my via an LMO to continue my tenure, however i have a few questions regarding this:

My current status with the Working Holiday Permit expires on the 6th of May, and we submitted the LMO a few weeks ago, we have not heard back since. If i do not hear back before the 6th, what kind of status will i be in? Do i need to be on a Visitors Permit to continue to stay awaiting my results?

If the above is an implied status awaiting results, and i get denied, am i able to apply for a Visitors Visa inside the country? And how would i go about this? Since my country is not listed in the Visa required section i cannot find anything specific to my nationale. Is anyone able to shed light on this as as i still have certain things i have to do in the country before i leave, and a visitors visa would be fine for 3+ months to get these things sorted.


Edit: I believe for this i should need a Visitors Permit and am applying for one now via the form located at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5257B.PDF. However when asking for Purpose of Visit, what would be the best thing to state here. That i am awaiting my results for my permits?

You can change your status to that of a visitor.

Make sure that CPC-V receives your application before the expiration of your current status (courier your app package or you can apply online;remeber to scan and attach the documents needed if you decide to do it online).

Just an update to this, i have applied online fine on the 22nd of April, and receieved confirmation of online application receieved.

However as my date of status expires very soon, i am just posting to query if the fact that they have receieved confirmation is evdience enough to stay, or do i have to leave until i recieve a proper permit form regarding the VISA?


Any help would be great.

If your application was received by CPC and it is in order (meaning you attached all the documents requested on the checklist) then you are on implied status until you receive a response from CPC-V.
