Just a quick question. It looks like DM to COPR received is currently about 2-3 weeks, which is fine, I'll just be staring the postie down every day, but I'm just curious as to how long it takes to get the "We will contact you about the decision via mail" line on ECAS. Or does this not happen with every DM?

We never got that. The COPR came totally randomly one day.

As you may have noticed, there are some like me who received DM and instead of COPR in 2-3 weeks, we received emails requesting recent passport photos, passport scan and updated info charts which means further waiting. Some however dont get these requests and receive their COPR in mail.

Hopefully you will get COPR without further requests.

I just received this response to a case specific enquiry.


We regret to inform you that we cannot provide a more detailed answer or a timeline for the processing of the application. Please note, an officer is currently reviewing your application and will be in touch with you shortly regarding further information / documents that are required regarding your criminality and security checks. Please note, your application has not reached the final stages of approval.

So I guess I have a bit to go. This will likely impact the job offer I have waiting for me as they want me to start as soon as possible and expected me to get my visa in November.

Andrew just out of curiosity what was the original status on your police cert? If it was no notable trace there shouldn't be any issues. Seems they're just dragging their heels. Sorry for your troubles. I, sure you're even more frustrated now especially with it having an impact on your job offer.
I'm also curious as to whether or not the quick processing of the 2015 applicants may have something go to do with Express Entry procedure. Just a thought.

Wellll my step son went for his re-medical this morning for non accompany dependent and the results have been sent to London.. Please please god don't ask me for anything else because i will crack this time.

OMG, OMG, OMG! Am over the moon, went to the post office depot today to pick up a piece of 'signed for' mail. It was my COPR

I am as clean as a whistle. Nothing to report and nothing reported on the PCC. I think they are checking for crimes committed in Canada although my notes said the RCMP check came back and passed so who knows.

Meanwhile 2015 applications get approved in no time, there isn't any hold up for them huh.

Can someone please assure me that this is real?! From looking at the spreadsheet it looks as though I'm not the only one but seriously, is this a micacle?!

Also, when I complete the 'Appendix B - Updated Information Chart' should I include my Sponsor under the 'Spouse or Partner' section? I am the Principal Applicant but myself and my Sponsor are living in the UK right now. We'll be returning to Canada together but obviously I'm the only one that is being granted PR as she is already a citizen.

Hey the spreadsheet shows that your application was received May 19th, so just a few days short of 6 months.
(Just wondering why you are counting it as 3 months?) Quite a few applications have been approved recently in 5-6 months and it seems that you were also one of the lucky ones!

Hey, sorry I was referring to the time my file was in London, not the entire process. Including shipping, transfer of files etc it came down to 5 months. Any idea why?

We actually decided to up and leave Canada because we were realistically looking at a year to process me in London as the PA. I'm happy, don't get me wrong, but kind of confused on why I deserve this over people waiting since last year???

Just count it as an early christmas blessing! =) No one really knows why some applications have suddenly sped up. It's more than likely to do with the new immigration minister and them wanting to look good (Bring the average down by completing some newer apps) It could be a coincidence but this all started after Trudeau was voted in.
