We received a letter from CIC today stating the below:

"These medical instructions are being issued since your application has been processed to the stage where medical examination results are now required." and it goes on with instructions and the list of panel physicians.

We did a medical in February 2015, 2 weeks prior to submitting our application. We submitted the receipt or whatever it was the physician gave us as record. Do you think they are requesting another medical because that was 10 months ago or that they have not received our initial medical?

Any advice?
Sent them a copy of the receipt by email on Wednesday and received an email back today confirming our medical application has been found, even received an apology for the confusion.

Congratulations! Another one for June! Now the only pattern I can see is all applications have been married instead if common law. So i'm crossing my fingers for a common law acceptance! This process might actually be speeding right up!

Part of me does feel that it's a tad strange that some early May apps got approved and then it skipped straight to early June with no later dates for may. Makes me feel that maybe they are doing this to sorta fudge the average and make it look far shorter than it is.

Let's spare a thought for those who have been waiting 3 x as long as WeeHippieElf's timeline.

Screw you London.

thanks, Andrew-Brit.. i must admit, i made this face:  when i checked ECAS this morning.. had to share my skype screen with my husband and ask, "are you seeing what i'm seeing??" while i was, of course, hoping our application would be quick, i would never have expected it to be 3 months from AOR2 to DM. it seems like just yesterday i was sitting in a restaurant with my best friend, crying, because i'd just learned that LVO's processing time was 28 months, and i was going to be without my husband for over 2 years. that was less than 4 months ago. i can hardly believe it.

i think the people who work for CIC have a disconnect between the pieces of paper on their desks and the fact that there are real people whose lives are on hold in their hands. it is not fair that some people are waiting more than a year and some people are pushed through in a matter of 5 months start to finish. while i'm thankful to be one of the superlucky ones, i definitely recognize how unfair the process is.

That could certainly be the case. The processing times are due for an update in a few weeks (last updated on August 27th), will be very interesting to see what they put down as the new processing time for London.

Man it has been a process. So it basically took a year from our submission. We expected 7 months! and then with the Islamabad cases arriving about two weeks after we submitted, I expected that we would be waiting until January or February at least.

Best of luck to everyone in this journey. It sucks.

Morning Andrew Brit,

You asked if I had received a request for my passport when I got my C.O.P.R....and I said no nothing a few days ago. Well 2 days AFTER entering Canada with my C.O.P.R. I received an email this morning from London (dated today) asking me to submit my passport and passport photos to Ottawa to finalize my application??? Also if there are any changes in details i.e. married, children, criminal convictions etc in bold writing "you must inform London" of these changes.

I told the CBSA officer at the border upon entering Canada that I am a married not common law (I had sent my marriage certificate to London) but as there is nobody to call, I could only presume they had received it. Obviously it must have vanished into thin air...?

Anyways, I can only presume this is a mistake (currently holding back from typing a harsher word) and its very obvious there is no communication between the Canadian border and the processing office.

I replied to Ottawa with the email address they supplied, that I am already in Canada, got my new SIN, BC Medical etc so I presume this is a mistake???

I will post any responses, if I ever receive one. Any recommendations? Just carry on as normal...?

Hi Spud85,

As you have already landed I would say this is a mistake. Just to be safe I would reply saying that you have already landed. Was the CBSA officer able to change your marital status before landing?

Yes it was no problem. I informed the officer before signing at the bottom of the C.O.P.R. (to confirm everything is correct) of my change in martial status and she input the new information into the computer while we took a seat in the waiting area.

They really test your sanity/patience with emails like this 2 days after landing.

Thanks for your advice Andrew Brit. I will let you know if I hear anything back.

Right .. i hate cic and there stupid letters. You daughter is non accompany and you do not intend to ever sponsor her . What you need to do is send the letter back as instructed with what you have said here, then attach the blank template that they attached with the declaration that your non accompany is not coming and you will give up your rights to ever sponsor her in the future. You can't fill in Schedule A because you don't have any knowledge of where she is nor can you provide a passport or medical or photos. Write all of this in the letter. Return the email to the sender this will insure the officer whom sent you the email will see it.
it is just a requirement,i had the exact same situation, they asked me to fill in the waiver doc.which i did and that was an end to it.
