How to know - other than contacting LVO - that Decision Made mean approved or (God Forbids) rejected?

After re-medicals, no other correspondence from LVO. No PPR, no additional documents etc.

I need some advice to try calm my nerves.
My visitor visa expires next week and I've applied for extension buy not heard anything back yet
other than they have confirmed the submission.
I left this abit late, as I read it as you need to apply within 30 days rather than atleast 30 days before hand, so I applied
30 days exactly before the expiry.
It's my understanding that I'm now on implied status and I can stay until they decide?
I need to goto the US in 3 weeks to get married , so i'm just abit worried that I will leave
after the expiry and then try to come back after two weeks.
Is there anypoint going to the boarder at Niagara when it expires to try and renew it?
I'm now just worrying about this rather than waiting for an update in my PR application.

Yes you are on implied status until they reach a decision. I think the processing time for an extension is around 60 days but recently someone posted that they received their extension in 30 days.

Assuming you get your extension before your US trip, once you leave Canada your extensit will be void and on your return to the Canadian border you will have to prove to the officer you are just entering as a visitor, have a PR app in process, dual intent etc.

Hmmm so I could contact about medical? I will consider your advice . I am hoping they will extend it to another year since it says there is nothing that would prevent admissibility to Canada.

Hi My families medicals expire in early August too so I wrote to LVO a month or so ago asking whether they can extend them until Nov or if we need to redo them. I have not heard anything back yet but will let you know their answer when I do. I figured it can't hurt to ask, the worst case was we could get on with redoing them if they would not extend it.

We are not yet in process either.

I received a request from CIC yesterday with regards to:

- Copy of Passport
- Updated photos
- Updated Information Chart

I think I know the answer but wanted to be sure on one thing. I assume I need to send the above for myself only as the principal applicant? My wife and children are all Canadian citizens.

I will also assume this is now the final step. ECAS had changed to decision made on the 26th May.

+1, I applied for my visitor visa extension around the same time as you. The current processing time is advertised as 76 days, assuming you applied online (working on applications received March 13th) You are on implied status until a decision is reached. As Andrew-Brit mentioned, if you leave Canada, that extended visitor visa (or implied status) is now expired when you cross the border. You need a brand new visitor visa upon re-entry into Canada, satisfying the CBSA you are entering as a visitor, albeit with dual intent

My work permit runs out July 2nd.

I need to change to a visitors visa. I couldn't do this before 30 days due to not feeling like I had enough savings just yet and also wanting to include the receipt of postage for my outland application. Does not applying 30 days before my visa expires effect the likelihood of it being granted? I have an outland app in place.

Spreadsheet updated. Ottawa sometimes does this; ECAS shows DM and then the request for passport comes later. You are nearly there!

No. CIC says to apply 30 days before and you can do that if you wish, but in the past year I have applied for 2 extensions a day before my current visitor record expires and I have been successful each time.

Thank You for the reply. It's more that I wanted to continue to save as much as possible for proof of funds. Its hard to know how much they require. I am hoping to get a year rather than have to re extend in 6 months if the COPR isn't through.

There is no magical number. In my past 2 extension applications I had proof of savings but it wasn't much. I focused on my wife/sponsor having a full time job and my application sailed through.
