People who have landed... How long did it take for you COPR to arrive in the mail? I start work on Monday and I'm starting to get seriously antsy. It was sent out a week ago.

So when I landed last week the immigration officer stapled my copy of COPR into my passport.
I've read how important the COPR is and that I should keep it safe, like in a safe
The officer didn't stamp my passport, now I'm wondering should I take this out of my passport as it shouldn't be in there in the first place!?

you can take it out of your passport, and put it somewhere in a safe place indeed.
If the officer didn't stamp your passport, you might get a problem when you want a SIN - as Service Canada can only issue a SIN if the officer has signed and put a note on your passport - it's a date stamp, and a hand written number under it... hope you got that, otherwise you will have to wait until you get the PR card to get a SIN.

Some bad news from me I'm afraid. Things with the Mrs. haven't been so good with all the waiting and financial pressure, so I may be withdrawing my application and heading home.

I really hoped it'd be done by now, and I'd be making money again but it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen and there's too much pressure and resentment. It's a tough process. I didn't think we could handle the separation if I stayed, but I guess you play the hand you've been dealt.

Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted. Nothing final yet, but I think it's done. For those of you that made it through this hell, I salute you. And for those that are still going, keep up the good work.

Sorry to hear that! it is a really tough process on couples, and for sure a lot of pressure, financial worries are always a really hard one to deal with.... I hope that something good comes out of this process, either way.

COPR just came! And just like that it's over. I'm actually over in Japan now and whilst I've been here we've got DM and the COPR. When I left Canada things were still up in the air and when I get back on Tuesday it'll all be settled.
