I'm about 20-30 minutes north of Barrie. You'd figure Barrie would have something for me, but I've not seen a lot. I'm probably looking in all the wrong places, though!

This site is quite good, it lets you refine your search based on areas, so you can add 5 areas around Barrie. Not sure if this link will show you, but I selected Barrie and then added areas around it, but it seemed that most jobs were in Toronto. But if you look at the left it actually gives you the number of jobs available in each area in brackets which is handy.

Hey, that looks handy. Thanks! Filtering by city is nice! :)

The link's sat snuggly in bookmarks bar, I'll have to keep an eye on what's available.

so.... just got annoying email requesting MORE documents. As before when we had a document requested that was not originally required (Travel history), they are requesting more information not originally required.
Here is the email:

I refer to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order to continue processing your application, we require the following information:

Schedule A Background Declaration form. Please list your full personal history from 01/99- 03/02 on Question 8 of the form. You may provide the information via email http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

The thing is, on the form it asks for full personal history since the age of18, or the last ten years, whichever is most recent. Which is what we included... from 06/02-06/12 (10 years of history, taking my partner to age 21, as requested). Now they are requesting the information until his 18th birthday...

If that is what they wanted, I wish they would have just asked for it in the first place (I had to write and delete this last sentence three times as to not offend anyone with my language!!!!!)

Someone else on Britishexpats was asked for this and did the same as you. You are correct in your interpretation of the question and answered it correctly. I answered it the same as you. There is a debate on the other forum discussing the actual question and it's meaning.

All the august applicants seem to be moving forward except me... :( I am feeling very left out. The August thread is filling up with in process comments and PPR's and COPR's. I miss my husband and I'm sick of being in limbo

Hey Sweden,

For PM roles I've found they like a PMP qualification here in Canada. Have you done it? I spent my free time (while job hunting and waiting for PR) to read and pass (4 hour exam) the qualification. It might help you get the role you want. Worked for me...now I just need the PR!

S.
Hey SaMoS,

I haven't done it yet, and was thinking about it recently, because indeed certifications seems to be important here - I have never been asked for it before, but why not... and it would keep me busy! I'll look into it and might come back to you with questions.
Do you have a job lined up already? Hope your PR comes through quickly!

If it cheers you up, getting 'in progress' isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'd much rather have not been told that my file is 'in progress' than given the false hope of being told my file is 'in progress' OVER 10 WEEKS ago. I never used to check ECAS that often now I check it all the time because of this false hope.

Hello all,

The spreadsheet is still not opened for comments ( I can't have access to it even if I requested it), and it would be nice to be able to add dates etc as they come up, as it's a bit of a mess to update after 10 days....
So - I've created a copy of the spreadsheet, to which I have access, as well as scottishmapple and mitchy6 who requested it.
the new link is in my signature, but here it is
http://goo.gl/KGLMO

feel free to carry it in your signature as well, as it makes it easier to find it for new comers to the thread.

I'll try and go through the last days of the thread to update it, and mitchy6 can modify it to reflect what has been discussed ( 2013, etc).

As the previous owner of the spreadsheet is not following the thread anymore, we might as well have one that is working and accessible.
It can be passed on as things evolve...

If anybody would like to have access to it, just let me know, and I'll grant you access (given the fact that I am now the "owner" of the new spreadsheet! )

Now London can send out COPR, DM and other niceties - the spreadsheet is ready! :)

We have a longer wait, but I think we have waited enough.
Our timeline is very similar. My husband's medical was done in March as well.
If you dont mind me asking what does your status online show?
We will be done very soon I hope!
Ecas still says application received. I have decided not to go with that anymore tho. Seems like they cant be bothered with updating it so i doubt if its a true reflection of where your file actually is in terms of processing.

We sure will.
