The home address where i want to live in Canada has been added to the E-cas status with my mailing address in Sweden and I have not recieved my passport back. Its been four weeks since they recieved it. Does that mean they posted it back with the visa and the COPR? This last waiting game is killing me.. I feel like this is taking forever..

Hey Yasiin,

congratulations! normally when the address changes it means that the visa has been issued, final decision etc - so probably your passport should be on its way very soon!

Good luck - it's almost over!!

As i`m just going on holiday and landing with my COPR do the immigration people mind you then leaving Canada and returning to England so soon after its been signed and stamped and not coming back to live for another 6 months!!

Many thanks again!

I don't think it matters. A lot of people do that... because of the uncertainty of when the COPR will be issued, CIC specifically advises not to quit jobs etc when filing the application, and to wait until it's issued. But you can't expect people to pack everything and tie all loose ends in a few weeks when they receive the COPR, so it's OK to go, land, and then come back a bit later. You just need to be 3 years out of 5 in the country to maintain your status, so in the future you need to take that into consideration, but coming back 6 months later after landing should be fine. In the 2 weeks you are there, you should look at procedures in Canada (applying for a SIN, healthcare, etc), and make sure that the address where you want your PR card sent to will be checked - once your PR card arrives ( 2 to 3 months down the line), you can have somebody in Canada sending it to you in the UK and return with that in 6 months. As you are from a visa exempt country anyway, it won't create troubles for you.

Good luck!

Congrats on your COPR, canucks78. I would like to ask if you can let me know what date on the COPR letter it has been issued not the day you recieved it which is September 1 and what day your home address appeared on the E-case status. I want to know it to try to make a rough estimation on the timeline.
Thanks

Hi,

It didn't change on the ecas until 27/08 but the letter is dated 24/08 as date of approval but then the postage date on the envelope wasn't until 31/08! The date the ecas added my Canadian home address was 31/08 (but it could of changed a few days earlier as I hadn't looked for a couple days).

Hope this makes sense and helps you!

Hi guys,

I have been reviewing the London spreadsheet and looking at the spreadsheet am I right in saying, most of the January and February applicants have been processed? (Feb , March, April, May sponsorship AOR's).

So from what I can make out London VO is currently processing applications submitted in March and April? (May, June and early July sponsorship AOR's)

If anybody could clarify as I am having a little trouble understanding it all and just trying to work out approx time scales, where we are and how long we are looking at in general.

Many thanks!

that's correct more or less... the ones in red are the (lucky) ones that have received their COPR. You have a few that have seen "decision made" on ecas but not yet received the document.

London doesn't seem to send AOR, except for the ones from Quebec ( to tell them to ask for the CSQ in case they didn't know about it). Most of us know that our application have been received through ecas stating it ( together with medical received).

the last one (COPR received on saturday) is CathandBob, who filed in March, got approval in beginning of June.

from the spreadsheet, it looks like London is working on files that were transferred end may/beginning of June from Mississauga.
Good luck,
Sweden

Thanks for your reply Sweden,

As my file transfer is very similar to yours I shall be keeping my open on how quickly/ slowly you are processed. Is processing done in order of when VO receives file or when initial application was received in Mississagua? Looking at that spreadsheet it looks very much like it is processed from when London VO receives the file.

On a side note liuminparis (who is No 24 on the spreadsheet) has a bunch of stars on column L (Sponsor approval time) What do those stars indicate as there is no key or reference to what they actually mean.

Many thanks again :p

80% of cases are usually settled within 8 months (as per the CIC guide for London VO)

If your looking for something a little bit more than that and a guesstimate going on previous applications, I would say somewhere between 90-150 days from when VO receives your file is a good guess according to previous applicants. 90 days if your super uber fast and about 150 days seems about average. I am basically aiming at about 150 days. 48 days down about 100 to go ;D Hope this helps.

Good luck!!!
