I sponsored my son in December 2014 just before his 21st birthday, his application is currently being processed in London. His application was complete with Medical and criminal records and my sponsorship was approved. He's in Canada with me now as they gave him a I year visitor's Visa in February 2014. They have now sent him an email requesting 4 passport sized photos which don't have to be certified. We sent them off yesterday via express post. Anyone know why they want these? Don't want to get our hopes up, but really hope this is for a good reason.

Usually if they are requesting updated photos it's because they are ready to issue COPR and need an updated photo.

I also assume you mean December 2013.

COPR = Confirmation of PErmanent Residency, it's the document that CIC issues at the end of the sponsorship process that you take to the border and present to the CBSA agent to officially land and get your PR. The document basically just says "Yep, we checked this guy out, he's got the all-clear to become a PR, process him as appropriate!"

1) My application is being processed through London.
2) I am currently located in St Catharines, ON, CA. (I applied outland to give me the option to go home to Ireland if I needed to during my application).
3) I applied for my GCMS notes on August 28th...still waiting on those to arrive.

Hi,
MP has recently told us that CIC will ask for military service exemption card and because of that my background check is pending. I am planning to go to my home country Iran, end of November and keep waiting there. So far it has been 10 months waiting time for us.

Do you know if in case of an interview I can choose another migration office like Ankara or it must be LVO or any other that I don't know?
