CONGRATS TO EVERYONE THAT GOT COPR!!

I will not deny that I am insanely jealous  Ha ha. Its also hard seeing everyone around me going in process and getting copr that applied around the same time I did. Frustrating having to wait! Seems like time goes fast but at the same time extremely slowly. My wife will be leaving Canada on june 4th back to Iceland as her visitor visa expires.

Does changing address add to the the processing time for CIC in london?

Thanks for any answers!

OMG don't tease me! Fingers crossed!! yes but average time line are now 11 months for 80% of application to be completed. I could be waiting another 5 months or so :/

Lets really hope that doesn't happen!

We finally ordered notes so should have those in about a month or so..

I have another question regarding the Additional Family Information (IMM5406). Does my partner include me in section-A where it indicated Spouse or Common-Law Partner? Also, am I correct in thinking that only he has to fill this out this form, not me or his parents, brothers and sisters? Just the one form indicating who his family is?
Yes, your partner includes you on that form and he is the only one that needs to fill it out.

Based on the spreadsheet average time is 6-7 months, so hopefully you will have it soon!

Just a thought...perhaps apply to extend the visitor visa?

We already extendeded once. by the time she leaves she has been in Canada for 1.5 years. If she gets denied she will have to leave and based on the ''6 months out the year'' rule it would probably be hard for her to come back in straight away LOL. I am going to iceland and the uk with her for a vacation so wont be apart long at all

there is no limit to how many times or how many months it can be extended, so applying again is an option. When asking for extension, just include proofs that you already have the sponsorship part done and approved and you are only waiting for the second part, and ask for another extension. If you have the means to support her, there are few chances to get denied. Many applicants have stayed in Canada for longer than that while waiting for PR without issues.
I'm not sure what you're referring to with the "6 months out of the year" rule - I think that applies to US immigration but not to Canada.

Hi Yes, We did have that option. Essentially our lawyer told us its 50/50 for a multitude of reasons. I have all means to support but if it does get declined she will have to leave and if the pr is not through we will have to be apart for an undefined period of time. 6 months out of 1 calendar year is essentially what CBSA grants you when you first land. So say you left after 6 months( flagpoled after a few days or weeks) and came back they can deny you. Personally based on what lawyer has advised I think this is safest route. We will be spending a lot of time together in Europe for a nice deserved holiday!

Your lawyer isn't too bright....

As Sweden said above, with a PR app in process and proof of funds to support the extended stay, there is very little chance of the extension being refused.

There have been many others who have stayed in Canada for several years as visitors before and during the PR process.

My COPR has arrived! :D

One of the happiest days of my life, a real mixture of emotions. Happiness, relief, excitement. Just an amazing feeling!

Good news too is the PR has no conditions. Date of issue is April 17th and they've given me until April 2015 to land, although I'm planning on going in a couple of weeks.

Thank you to everyone who has helped and given their support along the way. I would never have got to this point without the help of the people on this forum.
