I got an email on the 20th saying they received it on the 13th.. So I'm hopeful it'll be back soon..
I can't believe it either.. 13 and a half months or so now.. It's mad.. It has also forced my hand in terms of the immigration. I was hoping to be out there way back in March or April of this year.. Now I'm not so sure when it'll happen.. Luckily for me the wife is here in the UK and we're 2gether.. Anyways, 1 step at a time I guess..

Apart from that tho, how's life in Canada??

I'm CIC stress free though, don't think about it as much as I did when I was in UK, so that is a bonus.

I got an email on the 19th from ACRO saying they had received it. It took me longer to get the application together because I am in Canada than it would have from the UK. I had to email CIC to request additional time to get the Certificate to them. They have given me to the end of October. I am hoping to have it back next week so that I can get it off my mind.

I can't believe that you and I are still dealing with this....

I feel your pain my friend! I still don't really have any friends here, even now that I'm working (about 60 hours a week I might add!).

My ECAS moved to "Decision Made" a few days ago ;D

I'm late to this party, but if it helps - here are my application stats:

App filed: 22/2/13
App Received: 26/2/13
Sponsor Approved: 26/3/13
App sent to London VO: 26/3/13
App status moved to "in progress":16/8/13
Request Documents (RCMP Check): 20/8/13
Documents sent to London: 04/9/13
Ecas status moved to "Decision Made": 22/9/13

The idea that this is nearly all done hasn't sunk in yet - no one gets what this process does to your mind unless they've done it themselves...

It will take a while to settle. Don't get discouraged. It took me ages to settle into life in the UK. Just talk to people, they'll go crazy for your accent

I sent a nice email inquiry Friday, and Monday morning an officer replied and that we'd been approved and official email would follow!
Decision Made on ecas, so I'm beyond happy.

Hello,

We left the country a few weeks ago as my partner's current visa was expiring, and I can't believe how easy it was to get him on to a visitor's visa. I figured I would share because I scoured this website for days before we crossed the border.

I was so nervous, ready to book flights, but to save money we gathered all possible evidence for proof of employment (the sponsor's), all CIC correspondence, and proof of funds etc and hoped that would be enough. At the border they were super quick, they just checked online, saw that we had applied for the spousal visa, and gave him a one year visitor's visa! I'm so relieved. They did advise that we should have applied for the visitors visa online instead, but we missed that deadline so was not an option for us.

Anyways, thanks for the excellent advice, especially davidmarsden38!

Hopefully we will be crossing the border again in the next few months with the COPR.
