Just got my PPR e-mail this morning from the London office, am very happy as I was expecting to be waiting a lot longer than this :D!

Best of luck to everyone going through London, they seem to be quite quick compared to some other offices.

Regards,

Derwig
Congratulations! I am so jealous! hopefully I'm not that far behind as London got my file 15 days after yours ;D

I'm kinda lost really - our ecas was updated pretty quickly (when using my huband's (sponsor) details - I'm still not identified apparently haha) They received our application Feb 7th at Miss, Sponsor approved and all forwarded on Mar 4th - my husband got a letter 3 weeks later (thankfully he phoned them to find out the decision so we didn't go insane haha), London received them on Mar 9th and they also updated the medicals have been received...yet...I haven't had a letter to say they received anything...and it's exactly 3 weeks today....maybe I'll just get all the good news at once haha fingers crossed!! I hope ecas can identify me soon!! :D

If anyone can shed some light...that would be appreciated.

Hey All,

This thread is Huuuuge.....

Anyway, need to confirm something/ask best practice:

Received my COPR
I live in Toronto
I intend to go down to NIagara, via Bus, to 'Land'.
One poster suggested the Peace Bridge into Buffalo, another suggested the Rainbow Bridge into US Niagara Falls.

As I do not have a car, which option is better for a pedestrian?

Also, I presume I can cross at any time, day or night?

I walked across Rainbow Bridge... It is right in the middle of Niagara Falls so if you are getting a bus down there from Toronto that will probably be best. Have you looked into the GO train, I think they now run to Niagara?

Many thanks for all your congratulations & best wishes...

I'm sure all those who are waiting will have some good news soon...but the waiting is certainly a frustrating business though!

My plans so far are to officially land in Toronto on 21st June with my wife (who's Canadian), then return on my own to the UK on the 7th July and start winding things up here.

Whilst I'm doing that my wife will be looking for work and sorting us out with somewhere to live for when I return (after a few months). If I'm lucky enough to get offered a job whilst I'm there in June/July I'll head back to London for a few weeks and wrap things up as much as I can then return to Toronto. I work in a fairly specialised field so a job may take time coming...but if I'm in Canada at least I'll be able to jump on any vacancy.

Nazam80 - You can get your wife to submit your passport, but when she goes to collect it she will need a copy of the receipt that she was given when submitting it, a signed letter from you authorising her to submit & collect it, and a piece of government-issued ID (passport or driving licence) that includes her name and a photo.

Regards,

Derwig

Mine has been in London 3 weeks today, but I did get an email from them on Tuesday, needed to pay some import fees hmmmmm. So at least I know something is happening. And now I have a human on the inside I can email!
Hi Pinklady,

My passport arrived today. Did you get yours? 4 weeks from arrival in London (Feb 21st) to reach me in...Canada (March 23) but I just got it today because the postman forgot to write the unit number on the notice and the superintendent is busy so I guess it was at her desk or something like this. Today I saw it stuck on the door of the entrance. I am lucky that I picked it up today otherwise it would have been sent back to London. The visa was stamped in the passport on March 14th. They posted it on March 18th and it arrived here on 23rd March.

The only thing to do is the landing then the visa story is over.

yes you can arrange to have someone take in your passport and pick it up with a letter of agreement from yourself, when you get your PPR email it details how to do this. Im really glad that i went to the high commission, two reasons: i was sick of waiting for the postman and to see everyones faces when they collect them is something else, it was like winning the lottery!!

No I havent had mine back yet.
I have a suspicion that London only post on Fridays. I received an email saying that my passport would be posted at the end of this week, I assumed that meant friday. So hopefully it'll get sent tomorrow and then I receive it on Wednesday maybe? Tomorrow it will have been in London for 4 weeks.

I'm glad you have yours back now. When/where do you plan to 'land'?
And congratulations for almost completing the process, one step left!

I really shouldn't be on these forums right now, I have 36 hours till I fly out to Vancouver to Land! I'm supposed to be doing last minute packing!!!!

Thanks. You will get yours very very soon. It took 5 days to arrive here (Toronto). They posted mine on the 18th of March. It was a Friday. Very clever , Pinklady!
I try to go to the Peace Bridge, some people from other forums say it`s possible to make a U-turn before the bridge so I don`t have to cross the border. Here is a previous landing experience there from Nov 2010

trackitt.com/canada-discussion-forums/landing-in-canada/631545013/landing-experience-at-fort-erie-peace-bridge-nov-17-2010

I posted something earlier before. I plan to land next week or this weekend very early in the morning. If that border crossing will be busy I might go to Rainbow Bridge. I will see, post it later.

Hi everyone!

I'm a Canadian Citizen living in the UK with my British husband. We have been living together in the UK since 2001 and been married since Jan 2005.

We've done the medical, police certificate and are nearly ready to post everything off.

However, I had a few questions for those who are living in the UK sponsoring their spouse:

1. As a dual Canadian / British Citizen, did you (sponsor) send a copy of your Canadian passport only or both?

I thought about sending both as they would show proof of relationship and us living together for many years to meet UK immigration standards, but I'm not sure.

2. As we are applying to live in Quebec (in my case, return to Quebec), do we need to complete and send the Quebec forms at the same time as we send everything off to CIC-Mississauga?

Or do I wait till I have been approved as sponsor by CIC, and then have to complete the forms separately to be posted to Montreal?

Once I have been approved as sponsor by CIC, will send our documentation/forms to MICC (Quebec)? and then once approved there, MICC will send our documentation to London for PR?

3. Has anyone got any prior experience they would like to share with regards to an Outland UK to Quebec application?

Many thanks in anticipation for all your help!

Don't know about Quebec I'm afraid, but I sent copies of both of my passports just to be on the safe side.
Good luck with your application xx
