I got our caips notes finally 2 days ago. The only thing they really wrote in there was our evidence of common law being great, and kept talking about our baby girl.
We ordered it about 3 days before our PPR came in, LOL!

WHAT? That is EFFING WEIRD because at 1:12am (I wonder if we're in a 3 hour time zone difference) I got the EXACT same 2 ecas updates.
EXACTLY dates and all.

"We received (HUBBY) application for permanent residence on January 26th, 2011"

then

'We started processing your application on March 31st 2011"

......

All those with e-Cas issues... have you tried logging in to it since the notices as both the sponsor and applicant?

I got a flurry of these updates not too long ago (as the sponsor). There are now *two* lines of applications (both for the same applicant) showing on my login, though my wife's (applicant) login doesn't show anything new.

Just a thought...

Has anyone here received an email with a UCI and file number starting with F, and received it as the principal applicant, before the sponsor has received any news? I'm the applicant an I got the email with the numbers and them confirming they received the app in mississugua. This happened to anyone else?
That's exactly what my sponsor's email had. I found that I can use the 'F'# (file number?) to access eCas under my (PR applicant's) info.

So what is the next step for me/us?

I am pleased to report that chess101 has been updated in the spreadsheet. Now we need ndbella to hear some good news soon as that's the oldest non-PPR left.

Can you add me to your spreadsheet?

13 June 2011 - Applications Sent (by DHL)
16 June 2011 - Applications Received by CPC-M
11 August 2011 - Sponsorship Approved - PR App sent to Buffalo

Thanks!

Nothing has changed on my ecas at all. No idea why the tracker went off... :-\

Unfortunately, my husband's (applicant) ecas did not change at all. I am thinking these updates have more to do with the updates/changes they are making to the system than with the actual processing of the application.

Agreed. Sigh.....

That happened to us 4 or 5 times in the last month before PPR. Not to unnecessarily get your hopes up, but it's probably nothing to be worried about either.

If you recall, there was one form in the application that asked which of the four satellite offices you would prefer to interview in, if they deemed an interview necessary. I think you must have selected LA for them to have transfered your file there. Do you remember if you did?? Very few people with Buffalo VO get selected for interviews (I hope you and I aren't some of them), so there's a good chance it won't come to that.

I just realized that I had selected NYC for an interview (since we are in Québec), and my case was sent to... *GULP* ...NYC. Does this mean then that I am MORE LIKELY to get called for one? ???

Doubtful. From everything I've seen/read, it seems the main reason they transfer files to the satellite offices is to expedite things when backlogs occur.. Why they didn't do that sooner (especially for the Nov thru Feb crowd) is beyond me, unless the big computer switch affected ALL N. American offices all at once...

I think you'll be fine. Hopefully this means things will go even faster for you now!

Not really worried. At this point, any NEW news would be welcome though! ::)

I found out why it's been taking CIC so long to process some cases, unfortunately some of us get officers like this one.

Glad to see some of you that have been waiting FOREVER have finally gotten PPR, congrats to everyone, and good luck to the rest.

Make sure to copy the link in the address bar and replace "censored word* with the right one.

I've been reading a lot of everyday news (mainly Alberta's) and the justice system in Canada is just whacked. Horrible crimes (murder, rape, etc) getting only a few years, where in the states it'd be 25 to life. This story doesn't surprise me at all. They need a major overhaul.

(don't get me wrong, I like Canada, at least enough to immigrate to be with my husband! but it's just wrong what criminals there can get away with)
