Thanks for all the congrats, don't give up guys. Everyone's support really helped. I hope I can give lots of good advice to everyone, or people who are in a similar situation as me. Bella will get her turn too.

My bf sent his passport in today, now we just wait :)

We're going to go down to Buffalo Monday, it's only 2 hours from here....get the old passport stamped and take little man to spend the rest of the day at Niagara Falls (on the Canadian side of course) ;D

Congrats Chess!!! So happy for you!!....

I never even did get the tracker update when it changed to decision made or passport request....so not sure whats going on...

Congrats chess !! :)

So happy for you !!

My husband will be landing on Sep 23. We are very confused when and how we should import his car and other items. He will be driving to work to US everyday, so I believe he should import his car for sure....

Any suggestions welcomed :)

Hey Sparkle,
I too an importing my car from the states. He will need to export the car through the US and give 72 hours advance notice. He will have to fax over his title(I will also be faxing over proof that my vehicle is paid off.) He will have to find out which border he is crossing through and let them know, he is not expected to my knowledge to let the Canadian side know that he will be importing a vehicle. At the Canadian side he will be given a form to fill out and will have 45 days to get it up to the Canadian standards(which he can do at Canadian tire) this includes daytime running lights. He will also need a "vehicle recall letter" that states that there are no recall issues with that vehicle. He will also be expected to pay a fee of around $200.00 which has to be done by credit card. I have called the Canadian and American borders and they have been very helpful with questions that I have as far as importing a car and landing. Also, you can try calling 1-888-848-8240 and they will be able to assist you as well :)
Some websites that may be helpful for you as well:
www.cbsa.gc.ca(Canadian border)
www.riv.ca(lots of info on importing a vehicle)
Hope this helps and best of luck! :)

Morning all! :D

More confusion here. I got 2 messages from the ecas tracker at 4:12am... :o

The first one says they received my app on Jan 26 (already knew that, also got that message once before...)
Second one says "We started processing your application on March 31, 2011."

Now, I got the official AOR email from Buffalo on March 31... So, have I truly been in process since March?? And if so... should I be worried that it's been in process for 5 months? I haven't received any request for more info or any other communication at all!

CIC site STILL says application received, just like after yesterday's tracker glitch.

Will be sending another enquiry in a few minutes. Hopefully they respond to this one. (only my second one so far, so I'm not exactly spamming them. Yet. :P )

Oh amaranth, my ecas tracker was going crazy this morning at around 4 am too! Too bad it's not any new information :P But I would really be concerned if I have been in process since March 28, but I doubt it since it's the date of my AOR.

First I got an email saying:

"It looks like there may have been a change to your e-CAS. However, it is
not not entirely clear. The number of lines of information showing seems to
have decreased, and that doesn't usually happen!

Possibly CIC has made a correction to your file, rather than an actual
update. We're not sure, and you should check e-CAS yourself.

Previously there were 5 lines of information showing.
Now there are 2 lines of information showing.

The most recent line in your e-CAS says:

"We started processing your application on March 28, 2011."

Then I got an email saying:

We can now see the details of your application on e-CAS...

Latest update:

"We sent you a letter on January 17, 2011 about the decision on your
application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."

Then I got an email saying:

We can now see the details of your application on e-CAS...

Latest update:

"We received XXX's application for permanent residence on
January 26, 2011."

I must say though, it was very exciting to see THREE emails from the tracker after not hearing anything for almost 6 months :)

ok I need alittle help before I panic even more. Hubby got an email saying

"In order to expedite the processing of your application, your file has been sent to:

Canadian Consulate General
550 South Hope Street, 9th floor
Los Angeles, California 90071
fax: 213-625-7154
e-mail: los-angeles-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

Please contact them for the status of your application.

Do not request the status of your file within ninety (90) days of the date of this letter."

What happens if they decide they need an interview? there is no way we can go to LA and can we still go to Buffalo to get his passport stamped once they request it? or do we now have to mail it? (any help would be greatly apprieated)
also does this mean they haven't touched our file at all? (they've had it since jan 26th!!!)

Agreed! It was hard getting back to sleep though. The only email address I have tied to my phone right now is the one I set up strictly for immigration stuff. Having that notification wake me up was a slight shock to the system! :P

Fingers crossed that these ghost updates might be a precursor to better things!

Hi

so my wife got a call from MPs office, we had put in a request to inquire about my case. CIC just got back saying my pre-screening or paper-screening (wasnt clear) was done on August 11th and they said it could be take 1 week or 11 months from Aug. 11. I am really clueless here. Could some seniors shed light on WHAt is Pre- Screening or Paper-Screening? They said it means the application docs, medicals docs, background checks were completed.....But I cant be sure, you guys here would know better on this. What could be my timeline here?? Again I have had nothing from Buffalo office, its Application rcvd on e-cas and forced AOR via email inquiry.

Everything is so strange! This morning the system update my information indicating that my application is in process since September 6. On July 13th I had received a response via email, and Buffalo there already indicated that the application was in process by that date and assigned a Fxxxxxxx and Bxxxxxxx. Any of you happened something similar? What is the next step in the VO?

WHAT? That is EFFING WEIRD because at 1:12am (I wonder if we're in a 3 hour time zone difference) I got the EXACT same 2 ecas updates.
EXACTLY dates and all.

"We received (HUBBY) application for permanent residence on January 26th, 2011"

then

'We started processing your application on March 31st 2011"

......

Theres something going on with the system.I emailed Buffalo 3 days ago and havent heard anything back.Usualy I atleast get the automatid email within the 2nd day.

I was wondering how you guys get the ecas tracker sent to you In an email? If someone could explain this It would be greatly appreciated.
