Yes your husband can come to Canada while your application is processing, This is what I did while we waited for my PR. Now of your husband is a U.S. citizen or PR holder then he DOES NOT need to apply for a visa ahead of time. Instead when he gets to the border he just needs to inform the immigration officer (IO) that he wants to stay in canada while his application is processed. It is best to get a visitor record at the border that will list the expiration date. Normally they are issued for 6months however you can ask for a longer one based on the fact that you can prove that you have filed for PR already. Otherwise if the process takes longer than the visa is valid you can apply to extend it. When you arrrive at the border make sure to have proof of your application being submitted (such as approval of sponsorship, delivery confirmation for the PR application, Proof you paid the immigration fees, proof of medical exam, ect.) Also bring proof of funds to cover his expenses in canada such as bank acocunt record. Also proof of ties to the u.s. like family, house, rent, job, ect. If you can accompany him to the border that will also help becasue you can inform them that he will be living with you and you will be providing for him. Honesty is the best policy when I came I informed them my intention to marry my husband the next day and then submit the PR application and stay in Canada while it was processes. The IO was very helpful and reasonable I encountered no problem. Also it is good to mention that he understands that he CANNOT work or go to school while on visitor status and he knows he must return to the U.S. if he is denied. Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,
I just had a few questions for you. I sent in my application last February (end), was approved as a sponsor about a month later, it was transfered and received in Buffalo on May, 26. I can't really remember when I originally checked CIC online for my status, but it seems forever that it has said "received on May, 26, and medical records results have been received"!! In December we received a letter from them requesting documents: our children's Canadian long form BC's with both parents names on it, court papers (American husband's from years ago) and the official State Pardon that he recieved. THey were requested and we were given until February 9th to return this. Well, we got all of the official documents, and sent them to Buffalo as requested...and through tracking, I noticed that they signed for it yesterday. ANyways, I'm just wondering if this has ever happened to other people.....asking of more documents this far into the process, and also, is Buffaol pretty quick when they receive requested documents? I know that there are no inadmissability issues and I'm not worried about that, I just hate how it took so long for them to get to this point, and if this little request will set up back even further. Thank you for all of you help in advance.
A little background - I'm Canadian, my husband is American, we've been married for 9 years, two children together that were born in Ontario, living in US right now.
THanks

Finally...congrats Pharoh!

I checked e-Cas this morning at about 6:30 - I did receive an email from e-Cas Tracker at 5:20 this morning but it was in my spam box. However my message does not say anything about my medical.

We started processing DKA's application on January 27, 2011.

As for the log in information:
Receipt# and Client# with Sponsors info works
Immigration File# with Principal Applicants info works.

I'm in process too - since Jan. 28, 2011. javascript:void(0); Got the notice yesterday via e-CAS. No AOR yet and no email from them. I assume I'll just get the AOR in the mail soon.

Mine didn't say "medical results received" though. I was worrying about this, but I think they just didn't update it, or having matched mine up yet or something. I see that DKA experienced the same thing.

Now the wait for PPR. Hope it's not too long!

Hopefully they don't tell me that their missing any documents because that will mean they lost it being that I checked out the document checklist and made sure all applications were signed like 10 million times before I shipped it out along with the full payment of $1040.

That's my biggest fear. They'll ask for something stupid like a new FBI cert or just ANYTHING. If they feel your application is missing even a single piece of paper, they'll throw it to the bottom of the pile, you'll get a letter a few weeks later, and they won't look at your application again for a couple months. It's a bunch of bollocks.

The best thing that can possibly happen is Meds Received / Interview Waived / and them not losing any documents. If those three things are fine, then it's just a waiting game. For what, who knows.

What I've noticed is that Ecas doesn't always update everyone the same, either. It's just strange how the process is so different for everyone...

My Ecas was updated on Jan 21, saying "decision made" on my sponsorship app. We didn't actually receive the letter until Feb 1, and the AOR was with it. But my Ecas still has the same "decision made" on it.

And Ecas has never mentioned the medical, either....but the courier it was sent with confirmed delivery.

I hear you, Pharoh......we've already had ours sent back once. We had an email from Buffalo stating my wife could wait to have her medical done, as she was pregnant at the time. Mississauga disagreed, and sent it all back. My wife also hadn't written her name on the back of one photo.

DKA - we have the same dream! We'd love to just have it overwith! :D
