Ahhhh - PPR! Ours came this morning from NYC by mail (no accompanying email).

Fingers crossed for the rest of the 2010 applications.

I'm not sure if you're in the GTA or not, but if so... there's a place called Sooter's (the location I went to was up close to Pearson). They're cheaper than Black's (who will also do them) and the employees are super helpful. I believe I've also heard of people getting them done at CostCo. Hope that helps!

So the email for our PPR said most passports are returned within 15 business days. Has that been everyone's experience? Can people who have mailed their passports to Buffalo give some turn around times? Need to figure out flights....

HOLY MOTHERLOAD OF EXPLETIVES!!! I GOT PPR!!!!!!! You guys must send STRONG sympathy vibes LOL!!!! OMG OMG OMG It came by the mail in a huge envelope and my hubby called me at work, opened it and read it to me. I started jumping up and down and crying hysterically in front of the entire office!!!!

I haven't seen the documents yet but OMG!!! THE NIGHTMARE IS OVER!!!

...Now to get them my passport and get it back before I have to go home in Nov! Good thing I didn't buy airline tickets yet! I'm driving home, baby!!!!!

Congrats...such great news...now everything should be in line for you!!!

P. P. R!!!!!!!! Just after I got done complaining, it showed up in my email! I'm shaking so bad that I can barely type! This means that I'll be able to qualify for OHIP by the time our baby is born and won't have $5,000+ in medical bills! I have NEVER been more excited about something!

I just need to get a hold of my husband before I hit 'post'. I NEEEEED him to be the first to know! (it only took him 11 minutes to call me back! I can't stop sobbing!)

Could I maybe snag some of those good vibes? I'm still dealing with the RPRF request... Paid at the very beginning, but Buffalo doesn't seem to know this. PMM told me to contact Buffalo (on another forum), but every email I send to the email address on the letter gets bounced back as "unable to deliver", and I have yet to find a fax machine I can use. Husband did finally manage to get thru to the call centre in Mississauga, and they "made a note" on my file... Hopefully Buffalo sees it soon, but until then, I'm going to keep trying to contact them myself...

So frustrating. Just when you think you're close to the finish line, they find ways to make you wait MORE.

Have your husband contact his MP. If you have the copy of the receipt, they MP has different ways of contacting the visa offices, and should straighten things out and light a fire under their a$$es

We used Walmart and had awesome success. They had to take hubs' pics 4 or 5 times to make sure they were correct for the PPR....

Used to live in Wolfville and did that drive both ways numerous times. Just did it a few weeks ago coming from Newfoundland back to Ontario. You going to Calais/Ste Stephen or Woodstock/Houlton? I dunno if you've ever been but Calais is easier if you just wanna flagpole and get right back out of the states. Houlton is better if you want to grab some things to bring back with you. Also if you go to Houlton immigration people are only there 8am-8pm and in Calais it's 24hrs, if that's going to be a factor for you.

We are from Kingston! I'm originally from Mississauga though.
We usually do the Calais/St.Stephen crossing at the new buildings

Nothing for me yet. I wonder if a BC employer who put in for a labour market opinion to attempt to employ me (which is still processing with CIC after being received in August, 2011) has delayed my very straightforward family class PR application?

Anyone know if that would delay it? I believe the LMO application by my BC prospective employer was received by the CIC Aug 13, 2011 (after my sponsor was approved and my AOR, which was on July 5, 2011).

No movement whatsoever, not even my address updated on e-cas. It still says application received, which has been the same since July 5, 2011.

It will soon get to your turn soon. Your LMO cannot delay your application and from your signature, i think you are still with the timeline frame.

I had to submit for a new work permit while my PR was in process too, complete with LMO and CAQ. This should in no way affect your PR app (it didn't affect mine), since the LMO is handled by a different government organization. If you're currently in Canada, it's not even the same VO that handles your actual work permit. So no worries your time will come!

Were you ever able to fax the receipt through? You might want to just consider mailing the damn thing if you keep having errors on something. It does take about a month or more for it to be linked up with your file, from what I recall. By the way, I received a letter from Mississauga after I mailed mine "confirming" that they got it and notified Buffalo. That's been my one non-emailed thing from CIC
