Was that in the actual email, or an attached file, or ... ?

Well... they've got my name/address/DoB, my eye color is very obviously brown, and my height is "short", as they can tell from the relationship pictures we sent them :p

I guess I'm just worrying because the email was so obviously copy-and-pasted together, that something important got left out.

In the actual email. The email printout consists of 7 pages in total.
Wonder whether they have another random generator for emails. :)

Dear Applicant:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. We are now in a position to finalise your application.
Within the next 30 days please submit your passport(s) or a photocopy of all passport pages for you and your accompanying family members.

We also require two (2) recent photographs of yourself and each accompanying family member.

The issuance of your Confirmation of Permanent Resident document(s) is time sensitive so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) or passport photocopies as requested. You must submit these items by mail. We recommend that you submit a prepaid envelope for the return of your Confirmation of Permanent Resident document(s) and passport(s). Please refer to our mailing instructions for further information.

Please note, though your passport(s) or passport photocopies are due at our office within the next 30 days, you must check your documents upon receipt. There will be a validity date indicated, and you must become a Permanent Resident on or before that date. The validity of the Confirmation of Permanent Resident documents cannot be extended. If you are not prepared to live permanently in Canada immediately after landing, please consult the website regarding residency requirements in order to ensure that you retain your status in Canada.

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE.
FOLLOW THE LINKS BELOW FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

The processing of your application appears complete at this time. Please submit the required passport(s) within 60 days as the issuance of your visa is time sensitive.

Note: As of December 1, 2011, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will no longer issue a Permanent Resident counterfoil to applicants from visa exempt countries. All applicants approved for permanent residence, whether they hold a passport from a visa exempt country or from a country requiring a visa for Canada, will continue to be issued a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) document.

Please consult our website for a complete list of visa exempt countries:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp#exemptions

If you and/or your dependent(s) hold a passport from a visa exempt country, this office will NOT require your/their passport(s) to finalize this case. Ok so my husband's COPR arrived at his house today! He sent me a picture of it and it's not what I expected. It is one piece of paper that has very few details on it and 'not valid for travel' across it. It does have a 'valid until' date and it is July 25, 2012 (we got his medicals done July 25, 2011). So I guess it gets filled out by an immigration officer at the border and we get a permanent resident card in the future??

I don't think you need the B4 forms before you get to the border - they will supply them (although I could be wrong). When I moved back to Ontario from California, I didn't know about these forms and they just had me fill them out at the border. I wasn't prepared and couldn't remember what all I had packed (I had my vehicle and my parents vehicle packed full of my stuff). I think I filled in 5-7 things on the B4 form like clothes, jewelry, fake plants haha, that sort of thing...the officers didn't seem to care what I wrote. They just wanted a general idea. I also had to re-import my car and have a fit test done before I could get my license back. I did this all after I returned to Canada (but my car was bought in Canada and I had to show them this proof at the border). My husbands working on installing his daytime running lights right now. He actually had to order the part for it in Canada and have it shipped to the States. We are planning to land on Victoria Day as I have some time off to do the road trip with him :)

Woohoo!! Grats! How come you need to fill out more forms and send pics?
Thanks... NYC is asking I send a photocopy of every page in my passport (since USA is visa exempt country), 4 more photos, and a form about where to send my COPR.

CONGRATULATIONS The Franchise! You are one of those I'm so eager to turn you into GREEN on the spreadsheet! All the best with all those last steps!

PS: Isn't it funny that their standard email says "The processing of your application APPEARS complete at this time". Can they be more certain? :)

It's hilarious!!! My file has ONLY been in the hands of immigration for 15 months (including spousal approval and all). You'd figure they'd know something for certain.
