and then you get your PR card which you will need to use not the Visa.

And do you ever need to do anything to renew/update the PR card etc? Oh and how do you get the card?

Its up to you for quitting, but if you have to work your notice and give notice to other things maybe factor that into the decision. Are you planning on moving straight away?

Well I want to go asap, however I have three months notice and they are almost certainly going to make me work it, so I think quitting the sooner the better, as why delay it for another 2/3 weeks or whatever waiting to get my passport back. However, I was just wondering what the chances would be of not getting the visa after you've had the PPR, and assuming that you fulfill the few criteria in the PPR letter (e.g. 12 months on your passport, 2 empty pages etc etc....). Pretty darn near zero I would hope.

Sorry, forgot to say congratulations on your PPR too.
Also, I shouldn't have been lazy. I just read about the PR card on cic website so I see now it gets issued as part of the process, and renewal looks fairly straightforward.

Yay October thread picking up! Congrats to everyone who recieved there passport request and Spacey, someone from an earlier thread who had a form request got there PPR a week and a half after they sent it!!! Buffalo has had my requested document for a month now...hoping to hear something soon

I can only hope that this is what will happen and not end up back at the bottom of the pile, I have had a sick feeling all day. I am sure that I will be back to my normal waiting routeen by monday.
