Thanks a lot, my visa office is Bogota and nothing updated on eCAS yet...

Hopefully you'll hear something within the next few weeks, whether it's on eCAS or an AOR letter :). Hang in there.

Sooo Buffalo recieved my additional document yesterday. More waiting. Hope it doesn't take too long from here.

I second this :).

As a sidenote, I wonder if this has happened to anyone else yet: This morning I had an email from Matthew's eCAS Tracker. I got all excited, wondering what it could be. It turned out that it was only because they had updated my mailing address ::). For a split second, I had this funny thought, "Dammit. Why'd they have to go update that?". Ah, the joys of waiting during this process...

At least you had an update, I'm sure they think I've just disappeared... :(

Rinnerz, just to clarify since maybe it is confusing, the reason taht my In Process date and AOR date are the same because I used the date that was marked on the AOR letter, not the date I received the letter. I received it several days after the date on the letter, of course, since it had to go through the mail.

Thanks guys!!! Rinnerz same thing happened to us. It updated my bfs mailing address to my consultants and deleted his residential address for some reason. I was super excited as well. Just a tease :)

Back to eating chocolate.

Good to know! I did find it confusing, but since most of us mark the AOR date as when we receive the letter in the mail, I just interpreted your dates incorrectly I guess. Thanks for clarifying :).

:( Let's hope not. Hopefully you'll hear something soon. I know the waiting is just awful, and it's so easy to worry when you haven't heard anything in awhile.

Yep, my mailing address was updated to my consultant's as well. Tease, indeed.

yay!! CIC spelled reversed my wife's last names and got a mistake on mine!!! now, 5 more months waiting, thank you Canada!

Update: just got a email from VO New Delhi for my case specific inquiry.
i had emailed them a copy of my CSQ. they confirmed that they received my CSQ and provided a file number.

I was just thinking that if we would have stuck it out with the inland application we would have just been recieving AIP around this time. They're processing end of March apps. Sooo happy we switched to an outland app. Hopefully get PPR in the time it would take to get AIP even after withdrawing and wasting 6 months :)

Hi, can I get added to the 'happy' list too?

Full app was received by cpc m Oct 18
DM received Nov 26
That's all I got for now.. eCas still shows "Not Available" for PR

What do the other acronyms stand for? What's AOR?

Thanks,
Loc

Hey, welcome to the thread :).

As for the acronyms:

VO = Visa office, where your PR application is processed.

AOR = Acknowledgment of Receipt, a letter you'll eventually receive from your visa office (if applying outland) letting you know they have your file and giving you your immigration file number.

PPR = Passport Request. This is when the visa office requests your passport. For most offices, it isn't requested until the tail end of processing, when they're ready to issue you your PR visa. But some offices ask for the passport early, before a decision is even made.

Merry Christmas to all of you those you love xo

Thanks! Still waiting for my AOR but I guess I shouldn't be hoping for anything at this point in the holiday time period.

Merry Christmas eve to all
