The Hal will be in Buffalo, not London, as I have been living in Canada for more than 1 year. Have my medical and "mammogram"/Chest X-ray tomorrow (Yes I'm a dude, so no not really a mamogram, but made my Mother In Law giggle...), and also getting the "statutory declaration of common law signed... blah.

Hi, Hal!!

Have you been in Canada with a work permit? You can send your file to Buffalo if you have been initially admitted for one year, that means, your work permit (or study permit) allowed you to stay at least one year.
Sorry if I made it sound differently in my earlier post!

Actually my work permit was for 3 years...

I tried to check my application status online. They got my application last Tuesday. Used my receipt number and sponsor name. Anyone give me an idea when they will start logging my application online?

Once they have processed it, they'll make the Ecas as decision made and send out a letter -

Do you know this just from looking the tracktrace of Canada Post? Or did you get notice from CIC themself? : just wondering..

Tracking number i believe. CIC doesn't send out letters

So then in order to get to know our um 'case number' (? I believe that is the correct name for it) at CIC, we have to wait untill they approve my boyfriend as a sponsor. Then they send us a letter and on there we can see our case number?

In case the e-cas is updated somehow before you are approved, you might be able to use your client-id/recipt number to see your file number
