Just checked e-Cas and it now reads "in process" under the Permanent Resident Application Status.

The message is as follows:

"We started processing *_____________*'s application on August 2, 2010."

Now that this hurdle is crossed, can anyone tell me what to expect next?

Lys, now you will wait for one of three things to happen:

1. They will request more documents
2. They will schedule you for an interview
3. They will request your passport

Hopefully it won't be too long before you hear!

We are still waiting to hear back to B'lo too! We are not ready to change our mailing address until the end of the month so there is no excuse for us to email them...although we are anxiously waiting for letter/ email/ E-cas update!

I try to stay away from this board but unsuccessfull .. I notice that this whole immigration process is really getting to me and I am sure I am not alone with that feeling.

No, you aren't alone! Although my app is in process far sooner than we thought, I have had times where I needed to step away from the forum because I was reading too many horror stories about our visa office, Accra. I would get too depressed and need to leave the forum for awhile.

I hope Paris is already processing your app and just hasn't updated yet!

I'm getting ready to do the happy dance when you get your good news! You're back home now, right? Happy to be there I'm sure. Although TO is fine, there is no place like home.

BTW...thought I'd let you know that I'm down 47 pounds since applying! We have booked husband a flight for Sept 9 hoping that he gets his visa on the 24th. (booked on points, so even if we have to change it a few times, it is way better than paying for a short-notice one way flight!) and I hope to be down another 20 pound by then, and knock his socks off at the airport!

Hey.. I was home last weekend but I'm back now.. it was hard to come back, not knowing when I can visit again. I don't want to try crossing over again until it is all settled, but if it isn't by the holidays I'll just have to risk it.

We moved into a new apartment in a nicer part of town, so I've been busy.. and that helps a lot

Yay for your weight loss.. his interview is in a couple of weeks... so exciting! I know he'll ace it and be in your arms soon!

I e-mailed Buffalo last week. It took just over 24 hours for them to respond.
