they sent an email yesterday informing my husband that he was approved for sponsoring me, and telling him to fill some new forms since we're applying to quebec province..
yes as i know calling the help line could delay the process .. i hope you hear good news in the next few hours :)

Thanks, I did get the good news!!!! Just got an email notifying me I have been approved as a sponsor and my case is being forwarded to the Delhi Visa Office. And good luck to everybody else. Hope you hear something soon.

I also wanted to add...
When I called the CIC help line this morning (around 10am) they didn't have my application in the system. However I got an email at 3:30pm stating I was approved. So the sponsorship approval process only takes a couple of hours once they look at your file.

wich number did you call?

Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100
(you can only call this number from within Canada)

Hi Everyone,

I finally got my Sponsorship Approval in the mail on April 26th. It was dated April 18th. Also, my ECAS is active.

its nice to hear tht people r getting +ve results .....................as 25march applications are approved so think i shud hear smthing in 2 weeks :) good luck guys

When people are loggin into Ecas, does it tell you how long it took to process.?? Mine says that it started in process on the 26th, still have not got an email or nothing....

Oh, I am so unlucky!! I was waiting for the letter since it was sent out on April 19. I tried to call the visa office here but got a telephone recording saying due to privacy ordinance, blah blah blah, they will not accept telephone or email enquiries and can only look at the website for more information or write to them by mail !! You guys are so lucky you can actually call CIC and get to a person!!

Anyway, I just checked the eCAS again and found a new message, which states my home address. It's WRONG!! No wonder I still haven't received the letter!! I quickly checked my application forms but it's CORRECT!! URGH!!!!! >:(

At the bottom, it saids "To change this mailing address, contact us". When I clicked on "contact us", it just jumps right back to their website!! Finally I found a place for Case Specific Enquiry. After submitting, it said:

Your enquiry has been sent to the visa office processing your application. You should receive a reply within 28 working days (by email, regular mail or fax).

If your application is within normal processing times you may not receive a reply from the visa office.

If your message contains new information for your application (e.g. adding a newborn or change of address) your file will be updated but the visa office may not respond to your email.

So I don't even know if I will get a reply from them at all ! And another 28 working days wasted!!!

Also, is it the right place for enquiry?? It said it was sent to the visa office processing your application, but the office sending out the letter is in Mississauga right? Not my local visa office?!

This is sooooo frustrating!! >:( >:( >:(

Like I mentioned earlier, When I called the CIC help line at 10:00am, my file wasn't in the system, and recieved an email at 3:30pm the same day letting me know I had been approved as a sponsor. However, I still cannot log onto ecas (and you can). So I can't say for sure how long it took.
Our timelines are pretty close, and I'm sure you will be hearing from them soon.

Ya thats whats bothering me...called yesterday and they told me that it was open and being looked at so more or less "in process", hubs could access the information last night, yet I couldn't using the same information...I am the worrier of the relationship and starting to worry that they are going to send it back now which will set us back that much longer.....

I remember reading on another thread on these forums where someone's address on ecas was incorrect, however the Delhi visa office was mailing correspondence to the correct address.
Also the CIC call center can only give you information about your case if the file is still in Canada and has not yet been forwarded to your local visa office.

Some immigration officers are a little slower than others. That doesn't meant they are going to send it back. Also I've read that they are slow to update e-cas, so I wouldn't depend on it.
