Hello,

I just received my PPR.

I live close to the Buffalo consulate office and am wondering if anyone has submitted their passport in person.

Does your Visa get returned to you in your passport (They say they return them same day)? Do you then land same day?

Congrats! When did you apply?
I would recommend visiting the thread for outland buffalo applicants for an answer to your question. Good luck!

Hi Marchers!

Congrats to all the new PPRs!

Sorry I've been gone so long...lots to do. But I thought I'd post the good news!

House was for sale...which means it must be impeccable ALL DAY EVERY DAY! My sweet husband cleaned after ourselves and our dogs every day. But...

It paid off because our house sold in one week...we signed yesterday! Keep your fingers crossed so we get to closing on Sept. 28....and then it's off to Montreal because...

Today, I received my passport back! ;D It was delayed because apparently they didn't have my CSQ from Quebec. I thought Buffalo didn't work on a file until they had a CSQ, but now I'm not so sure that's the procedure. Anyway, I sent that in by email last week and received the packet today.

I wish I had a job, but my level of French will surely impede my job search. I'm taking the intermediate level Francisation en Ligne classes (through Quebec immigration) but I'm not yet good enough for the labor market. In time...

For now, I will be back on this site for a while....since my husband is leaving day after tomorrow. :'( He's heading out to start looking for a place in the greater Montreal area. I think it may be tough to find a place since we're on a budget and have dogs. We're off on an adventure!

Will be by more often.....

Good luck to all those waiting......

@boomerang

congratulations :D :D

i´ll be on the plane on friday, i´m soooo nervous and happy my whole body is itchy.

btw our house got sold also in just one week, pretty amazing in those days.
we´re preparing our dogs for the long flight, hope they´ll be fine.

wish you the best...,bye :)

@hopetoland

It is pretty amazing....I've seen houses in our neighborhood stay for months, and I had prepared myself for that. Luckily, it looks like we might make it.

Congratulations on your trip! I can imagine how excited you are.

We will not fly our dogs...because one is a pug and they're not allowed ( I think it's their flat nose issue). We'll make the 4-5 day trip from El Paso, TX to Montreal the old fashioned way. Sigh....

@aman3151

So sorry. That is a long time...perhaps a short e-mail to ask status would be in order. If the VO hadn't contacted me, I wouldn't have known they were missing my CSQ from Quebec. However, since they've generally stated they try to return passports in 15 days, you have good grounds for communicating and inquiring. Good luck

Congrats to you! We're getting ready to sell our home. I hope we sell as quickly as you do. Cheers!

Has anyone noticed anything different today when trying to login to eCas? As of today I can no longer login with my Receipt Number IMM 5401, and when I log in with my husbands Immigration File number (applicant info) his mailing address is no longer showing. I wasn't sure if that was a sign of maintenance on the eCas website or if they are actually working on our file. We have been "in process" since June 30.

xx Fingers Crossed xx

Well it's no PPR but... we just got an e-cas update:

"We started processing xxx (My wonderful husband)xxx application on August 2, 2011."

I find it interesting since we just e-mailed them our CAIPS notes request this morning... Hopefully we'll hear something more soon.

I know it's not much but really... at least it's an indication that SOMETHING is happening with our file :)

We got our file number well over a month ago, but it says it wasn't in process until August 2... oh well... at least it's been looked at for over a week now :)

I just got an ECAS update too but from the ECAS tracker!

""We started processing your application on May 5, 2011.""

WHY DON'T WE EVER GET UPDATES!!!!! BOOOO!

How do you email a Caips notes request? I have the forms all filled out I just haven't sent them anywhere, keep hoping that it won't be neccessary.

Well... I phoned the number that I got off of a thread in this forum (I can't remember where it was but if you google "CAIPS notes" you'll find the link. Anyway... called the number to ask a couple of questions... found out that it's worth it to pay the $5.00 even if the applicant is in Canada because the backlog for the free one is 3-4 months. The lady I spoke to was VERY helpful and e-mailed me the credit card form and also gave me the e-mail address of where to send my CAIPS notes request.

I don't have the e-mail addy here at work but when I get home (in an hour or so) I will post exactly what she sent me.
