Got a phone call today from Citizenship and Immigration ...I had called them back in February because i had only received an email confirming my sponsorship approval for my husband in the UK ...I was curious about why i hadn't received a hard copy in the mail ...She just wanted to do a follow up and inform me that if you put your email address on your immigration application they will only be emailing you from now on ...she told me they are changing their policy and the email is just as good as a hard copy ...it was nice to know tho ...she also confirmed that our PR application was definitely forwarded on to London, UK on February 11 so im feeling much better now ...its nice to know im not just a number ..

It makes a lot more sense to email people, its so much faster, however, I did put my email on the form also, and never received an email! I also talked to them at CIC and they told me they NEVER send emails!!

I guess its all in transition now, probably will be going to emails only

As usual there doesn't seem to be much consistency with CIC. We got a letter in the mail for the sponsoship approval part (from CIC mississauga) and then my partner got an email (a pDF doc attached the the email) from our VO which was his in-process letter and request for additional documents. So in our case we've had both mail and email - go figure!

Typical government bureaucracy ...give them instructions on how to build something and there are always pieces left over ...i was just happy they acknowledged i was a living person and chose to call me instead of ignore my concerns ...now that our app is in London, we are back to being a big pile of papers, with pretty little pictures ... :-\

Tomorrow is my estimated date for PPR but i find it very unlikely now as no one has heard anything from London is the past few weeks. I probably won't be having my first April in Canada any more (April and October are the only months I have never been there!)

I feel for you ...my husbands birthday is April 15th and I was hoping we could celebrate it together ...apparently its going to be next year ...the wait is excruciating tho ...

Got an ECAS update this morning... "We received <my wife>'s application for permanent residence on March 17, 2011."

Is this an AOR already?? I was not expecting anything soon!

Out of curiosity. How many pages and photos everybody filed?

I filed about government forms - 40 pages
supporting documents - 60 pages
photos - 50 wedding - 100 honeymoon

Our application was about 10 inches thick and included one page per week from April 2008 til Dec 2011 of our msn & skype conversations and emails from each of us to and from those dates, copies of cards to and from each other and from all family members and friends, plane tickets and documents supporting our visits to each other, about 50 pictures, support letters and the list continues ...

Our file should have been transferred at the start of Feb and we haven't received ANYTHING other than the sponsorship approval!

Hi all ! My file was transferred to New Delhi on Feb 28th 2011, I received a letter dated March 10th on March the 18th asking for my Passport and PCC which i have already sent and was delivered to CHC today morning. Would anyone here be able to suggest how long will it take from here now ?

my ecas was updated to : we recieved your file in buffalo. im assuming that is my aor as well. when do they update you if any documentation needed? is it months from now?
