The ecas tracker didn't ever tell me it was updated to Decision Made either, for some reason! I just thought I'd check today.

My case has become a little bit complicated:
My husband has tried calling Mississauga office several times and got very different answers. Some agents told him our file was in processing, some that they can't tell him anything, some said they haven't received it yet. It took us past two weeks to finally get the confirmation that they have received the file and that they are working on it. But now they want some additional inforamtion from the bank, because my husband owns a corporation and they want more than just a T4 slip. Funny thing was that he had to be really stubborn to cal them over and over again to even get this information. Then he asked how come they never sent him a letter and asked for additional information and they've said they had a letter scheduled to be sent to him! Rediculous!

So now he'll have to get the bank statments (5 days) and then send them to Mississauga office (3 days). Stupid! Especially because we live like 2 minutes away from the office. He even asked if he can drop the papers and they said no. So at least 2 weeks more for us.

This is a valuable lesson too....call them and ask, ask, ask...bug them...especially if there is a delay with your case.

Hmm, maybe that's why mine took a bit longer too - I'm a self employed physician, so I sent in copies of last years financial statements. Maybe that took them a bit longer to go through??

The Call Center people are sometimes really helpful and sometimes totallly useless! I guess you're right, just keep asking!! The good thing seems to be that when people resubmit things, it usually gets approved right away. At least you don't have to go back into the queue again. So hopefully soon after you get those things to them it will be approved!!

I really hope so. It's annoying it took them so long to tell us something is missing. So anyone...if there is a delay with your case, nag them on the phone. 8)

Actually, that's not what CIC advises.

Apparently, if you haven't waited the posted number of processing days before contacting them, it MAY delay your case. CIC, in some areas, claims it WILL delay your case.

If you submitted your app on Jan 19, the ABSOLUTE earliest that you should have considered calling CIC is this past Friday (37 days from Jan 19 -- 37 days being the processing time for sponsorship that CIC publishes now).

Given that CIC says it will slow down your case, I would have waited at least a *further* week before attempting contact, just so as to keep things moving.

Just sayin'...

Sure, but if the next person comes along and sees that bit of advice, isn't what *I* said helpful?

We've got to also remember that the folks at CIC are PEOPLE, too.

Tell me: if you are at work and some guy keeps calling your office, talking to anybody who answers the phone, especially after being told not to call until after such and such a date, what do you do? Personally, that file ends up in the "ok, I've got *nothing* else to do... I've organised my paper clips by size, colour and condition, my staplers are all full, I have my pens in order of near-empty to full... and I still have 5 hours left today. I guess I can deal with that file" pile.

Of course, if it's a resume, it doesn't even end up there -- it goes to the round file on the floor.

I'm all for being supportive, but that involves supporting the "whole" -- if a person doesn't follow instructions and they're telling others to follow suit, they should be called out for that.

I could understand your point of view if the person in the Call Center answering the phone was actually the person who was dealing with your file!!! Since they are just "call center" employees and only look up stuff for us, I fail to see how that will delay our applications! In addition, arunsgirl now has some information about what the problem is, and can go to the bank and track down the information and have it ready to go long before she would have gotten a letter from CIC requesting the same info.

@Kaycee1 - Congrats - that's fantastic news.

I'm sure it will be a positive decision. I know you were starting to get worried so i'm really glad that everything seems to be running forward now - you can let out a sigh of relief(and then go on to worry about the next step )

But honestly there is something comforting about getting the sponsorship decision becasue at least it means the process is underway. So again great news!!!

Just checked ecas and it changed yesterday to say file received in London Feb 2 and that medical results also received.

It is interesting and useful to check out the December and November threads to see the relevant office processing times.

STILL no letter! Why do they ask for our frigging email if they don't use it!! It would take less than a minute to send an email and put people out of their misery :'(

they have started making decisions on february applicants now...

There seems to be a few gaps in the january table, maybe those people just aren't regular posters on here...

I think the table should now be arranged by visa office as each one processes at different times so you can only compare timelines if they are at the same visa office. Theres no point someone saying i got PPR from New Dehli and someone going through London sulking about theres taking longer lol!
