Congrats, Gary! And also, congrats to everyone else who has had good news this week. We've had a few files move to "In Process" this week, and a few people land. Very good! I started working this week. Only a temporary 4 month job, but I'm excited about it! Because women are allowed to take up to a year for maternity leave and have their jobs held, I have found that there are a lot of temporary jobs available. The trick is to find one that will lead to something permanent!

Oh, thanks guys! I'm really hoping that it'll turn into something permanent. But 4 months is a start, and it gives me some Canadian experience on my resume. hehe I hear that there are other women in my office expecting, so maybe I can just move around and cover ladies on maternity leave for a few years.

I got my initial assessment today. The letter was dated May 18 (which is the date my eCAS changed to in-proceess). It says we have competed the initial assessment of your application, and expect to finalize your application without a personal interview.

But, it also says:

In order to continue processing your application, the following is required:

Have your sponsor pay the Right of Permenant Resisdence fee in Canada - This must be received at this office by :08/16/2011

But I already paid both the fees ($1040). Can somebody please tell me, what I should do? Should I mail the copy of my receipt?

Congrats on the initial assessment! That's great news! Yes, I would send them a copy of your receipt. I have heard of this happening to several people... I think another copy of your receipt should be good enough. You can probably fax it to them and get it there even more quickly.

Sentence I heard today, which put a smile on my face! Landed today very smoothly at Rainbow bridge Niagara Falls. Went to casino afterwards to loose 15$ for luck

Just wanted to let you know that we have received our visa. It was issued May 20th, and we received it May 25th. The embassy here in Bucharest is very organized and efficient! They even keep their Ecas up to date!

Though I'd throw in with the Buffalo crew...

My wife (CA Sponsor) and I (Las Vegas NV) sent in at the start of the month and are eager to make some headway. Though we are a little disappointed the current wait time on the CIC site has jumped to 11 months. Hopefully that moves down a bit... or a lot!

Here's our timeline and it'd be nice to be on the giant spreadsheet of immigration goodness... lol

Same mass quantities of No News here too. I was really hoping to see a lot more movement ahead of Buffalo's big "catch up" week next week. Ah well.

BUT! Game one of the Stanley Cup finals starts in an hour, so I'll be pleasantly distracted for a little while, anyway

I just got my IA letter stating that no personal interview is necessary, but..... It is asking me to pay the RPRF.

I already paid this online ($1040 in all) and submitted the Official Receipt with my application!! I already emailed Buffalo a copy and sent a Case Specific Enquiry. I'm going to call the CIC Call Centre tomorrow and ask them about it. I will probably end up faxing and mailing a copy as well. Has anyone else had a problem with this? I'm guessing Miss. just didn't forward it on with the rest of my application. It only asks you to include a copy in the Sponsorship Application portion. I guess I should have put it in the PR Application too. This sucks... I probably would have had PPR if this didn't happen!

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
